Had this problem last year. Dropped the blower and it did not spin freely. Just manually turned it for a few minutes and that freed it and it worked fine.

I just picked up an 02 Jeep Liberty. The blower fan wasn't working so I took a look. Found the power plug to the blower unplugged. Plugged it in and still blower didn't work.

The control provides ground to the motor through the resistor, so you cannot connect the negative blower terminal to ground-it has to go to the resistor. Put it back that way and let us know if there are still issues.

How to fix ac sticking on one setting

I would need more details on the problem, but if you are saying the blower will only work at one speed, then you will need a new blower motor resistor. They can be purchased at most auto parts stores, and are typically easy to replace. If that is not the problem, please post more details.

2010 jeep blower stays running after button off

changing the blower motor was a waste of time and money, you have power going to the blower after the switch (button) is turned off, could be a bad switch

Where is the blower motor relay located on a 2010 jeep liberty

on all speeds, is it dead sounding or only no air flow???
wow no symptoms posted only this goose chase deal.

use the scan tool yet? see all DTC errors.
2008 cars can report most cause of lost power etc,
not scanning, invites expensive gue$$ing.!!

HVAC 101: (
gdoes the motor have 12vdc on high? at connector to it>?
on all speed's (now that is a KEY FACT there)

  1. defeat air bag first or die , fiddling these parts.
  2. do the HVAC calibration yet? per FSM.
  3. scan it yet ,if not you will guess wrong. I promise,
  4. i have to stop my online page ,is missing the wiring sections.

calibrate damper:
Use this procedure to ensure that the A/C-heater control is correctly calibrated to the blend door actuator. If the calibration is not correct, the heating-A/C system may experience a condition where full heating or cooling capabilities cannot be obtained.

Many steps can not be done with out a real jeep scan system.
sorry, cant.

I own a 2005 jeep liberty. the ac, heater fan only works on selector switch setting # 4. nay sugesstions on why fan does not work on settings 1, 2 or 3.

The lower speeds are accomplished by running the power supply through various resistors that drop the voltage which makes the blower turn at different speeds. The lowest setting uses all the resistors to drop the voltage as much as possible to turn the blower as slow as possible. High speed uses no resistors so the blower gets full power and turns as fast as possible.

Since speed 1 and speed 2 use the speed 3 resistor to drop there voltage and speed three is not working as well my guess is the speed three resistor is burnt out in the device referred to as the blower motor resistor or blower motor speed control module. This is located near the blower motor and is held in place with 2 screws. There will be several wires and possibly two connectors plugged into it.

These are really common failures in many vehicles. The parts are usually available at your local auto parts store and they are typically not that expensive.

Hope that helped.

My blower motor only works on high speed its a 2005 jeep liberty it worked fine last night when i got home i started it early this morning and it would only work on 4

Your blower motor resistor has gone bad. Everytime these go out (definitely happens a lot on Jeep) you will lose every speed except for the highest one. Replace your resistor and you will be back to new. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks for using FixYa!
