2006 dodge magnum check engine light is on

Well have you had a obd2 computer plugged into the diagnostic port and had it checked to see what the error is. This will be done for free at local autostores like an autozone. Go there and have it done and tell me what the error is and we can go from there how to fix it.

2006 Magnum: my check engine light comes on but the car is runn...

The check engine light comes ON when the cars computer(the ECU) notices any kind of electrical problem in car.In some cases the check engine light comes on then turns off.In that case the exact error is not getting confirmed so this happens. But once the problem gets confirmed the engine light will remain permanently ON till the problem gets solved. In this case i suggest you to get your car scanned at autozone service center. Its absolutely free.In case in the car scanning,if any error code is retrieved then you can check which part is faulty as per the error code.In case if no error code is retrieved then you can continue driving, till you get any confirmed indication. ---------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

2006 dodge magnum check engine light stays on had it checked will not let machine into computer to determine problem

Get in the car, close the door. Perform the following steps fairly quickly (less than 3 seconds) :

Turn key to ON
then back to ACC
then to ON
then back to ACC
then to ON

If there are any stored codes, they will appear immediately, in place of the odometer. For instance an "INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH" error will set a code of P0113.

You may also try and pull Fuse 11, and wait 10-15 seconds to reset the cars internal computers.
