check engine light staying on...vehicle was hooked up to a computer and I was told that the number one cylinder had over 40000 misfires...also when I reach speeds between 50 and 60 miles per hour...it feels like the transmission is sluggish this only happens between those speeds...I can shift the transmission to the # 3 postion and the slugginess stop ....any advice.check engine light staying on...vehicle was hooked up to a computer and I was told that the number one cylinder had over 40000 misfires...also when I reach speeds between 50 and 60 miles per hour...it feels like the transmission is sluggish this only happens between those speeds...I can shift the transmission to the # 3 postion and the slugginess stop ....any advice.

misfire can be caused by a few things. weak spark, low fuel pressure, to much fuel, vaccum leak. a simple check on this engine is to remove vaccum line from fuel pressure regulator, on fuel rail, driver side of engine. if you crank engine, and fuel leaks out vaccum port on regulator, its ruptured and causing rich fuel mixture. try that and let me know.
it could be alot of things...you could start by routine maintnence( new spark plugs, spark plug wires, air filter, oil change, the in line fuel filter) also take into consideration what kind of gas you are using...i know it sucks spending $100 a week in gas with your AWD 6.0 liter V-8...but if ur not running premium it could very well be your problem. I have also heard of the denali's having oxygen sensor issues...is it throwing a check engine code?
I RECENTLY GOT THE SAME MISFIRING DIAGNOSIS. WHAT COULD IT BE?
