Volvo 2001 s60 t5 can't keep the ralenti rpm at less than 1500rpm, the car constantly shut off.

It appears that above 1500rpm the car stabilizes. Also, the engine emergency light is displaying the following code faults : p0172, p1171,p0121,p0102. Thanks

Code po172 is your bank 1 o2 sensor and code po121 is your throttle posit sensor that controls your RPMs .code po102 is your maf -mass air flow sensor. and code 01172 is a throw in code from the others cause problem. you need a o2 sensor and mass air flow sensor and throttle position senor

SOURCE: check engine light code PO442

You likely won't notice any drivability problems. P0442 indicates a fuel vapor leak in the EVAP control system. It means a very small leak has been detected. In fact, the leak can be from a hole as small as 0.04" in diameter.
The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage.
Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine.

With a P0442, the most common repair is to Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the codes, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back. Otherwise, replace the gas cap, or Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses.

Good luck and hope this helps

SOURCE: CODE 042 ON A VOLVO S60

Brake lights and cruise control are not set properly.
Easy check - are your brake lights coming on with just the usual light touch of the pedal? If not, then the microswitch that senses that your foot is on the brake needs to be adjusted or replaced.

My speedometer and rpm gauges keep going on and off in my 2001 Oldsmobile aurora What could be the problem

Gauges need a steady constant voltage, not affected by alternator variation so a voltage stabilizer is used to keep the voltage constant, possible intermittent fault (bad connection) to the stabilizer, generally located on the back of the clock panel. Are the fuel and engine temp gauges affected as well?

Has anyone checked your "rev limiter" ? It is a sensor that will not allow you to "rev" your engine past a cetain RPM.
It is usually only "on" when you are in PARK, but it is something to consider.
Please let me know what you find.
