As you can tell from the picture it isn't too easy to reach. So you'll want to go under the vehicle to get at it I think. Release tension on the belt by pulling on the tensioner pully, using the appropriate socket on the pullys' spindle bolt. Slip the belt off the tensioner and then remove the tensioner mounting bracket.

Seat bar not retracting

Typically there are plastic cable pulleys used in the seat retraction system that routinely fail. These have been replaced with metal ones by Honda, and are fairly cheap. Save yourself a ridiculous labor charge and go to www.ridgelineowersclub.com and search for seat - pulley - repair, etc. There are excellent descriptions on how to fix it. It will take about 30-45 min max. Make sure to replace BOTH pulleys for the rear seats. This forum is a priceless resource for Ridgeline owners. Honda Ridgeline Owners Club Forums

When is it recommended to change the serpentine

Not so much a mileage thing. It is wear and stretch that you need to observe. If belt has cracks, chunks missing or your tensioner is at the max position change it! Why take any chances? If it breaks, you will be S.O.L. and stranded

How to change a serpentine belt on 2007 Honda ridgeline

You'll need a 1/2 inch socket wrench to fit on the inlet of the idler pulley. You'll also need an extension bar to lengthen the socket wrench because the wrench alone won't be long enough to reach. Apply pressure to the pulley to take the tension off the belt. Slide the belt off and then install the new one using the diagram under the hood as a guide. Check this thread for some photos:

Honda Ridgeline rear seat leg problem

honda now offers metal 9zinc) cable retractors for the rear seat legs thet are supposeed to retract automatically wher you forld the seaat up. About $8.00 each. You will need tow of them. one for each seat. atahe original ones were plastic so at least these are a better solution. The dealer printed out the instructions on how to repair this problem and the part numbers you will need to do so. Ask your local Honda dealer service tech for a copy of the Honda bullitin that was sent out about March 2011 on this issue. This bulliten is very helpfull. Mcgrath Honda in Elgin Ill. gave me a copy of it.
