How do I replace bottom front motor mount 2005 Dodge Neon?

I had the bottom front motor mount replaced and it was cracked when i got home, about 12 miles.

Yes you can. Just put the car on JACK STANDS, As you will need to raist the engine slightly with a jack to take the load off of the mount to remove it. Buy the new mount first, so you will see where the bolts go. BE safe and don't rely on a tire jack

There are 4 motor mounts on a Neon. You need a jack to support the bottom of the motor with a block of wood on it. 2 are easily replaceable, but there is one that goes to the middle of the front of the engine that is tricky, plus the transmission mount is accessed after removing several components, like the battery and tray. It may be better to have a professional take care of those "tricky" mounts.

How to change front motor mount on a 2005 dodge neon
The mount is located under the engine, to replace it you must raise the car up as high as poss and support it with safety stands (a must!) and then unbolt the two engine mounts located about midway along the oil pan and bolted to the engine block, then you must carefully raise the engine off the mounts (do not damage the oil pan) and slide out the old mount and the new one in. You will need allot of tools to get this done, so unless you have all the needed tools don't attempt it.

I recently had 2 motor mounts on my 2005 dodge neon replaced. After I got my car back, I noticed it was making a weird noise, can't quite describe it, just knew that I hadn't heard it before. Then...
I also had my engine mounts replaced on my 2005 Dodge Neon. I have the same sound going on right now. When I spoke to a Auto Parts guy, he looked at it and said it was my tension-er pulley, and that when it runs out of grease it is a screeching noise and will be metal on metal. If you are looking at the front side of your car at the hood. It is the belt and pulley's that are on the left of the engine. (other side of battery). The tension-er pulley is the almost triangle looking piece located behind the back side of the belt.

They belt not being tight enough could also be why when I start my car, it seems to be rough starting.

I plan on getting this fixed ASAP. Perhaps your's went out and is now why the difficult steering.

I know this is not a solution, but it might help.

It's an engine mount. Usually it will be one at top/front engine and one onside /bottom engine. They are easily replaced, just be sure to take the weight off the mounts with a jack.
