How do I remove a wrecked front fender assy/quarter panel?

My daughter wrecked the front driver side fender. I would like to know how to remove this whole assy including the fender and the inside pieces.

The front fenders are connected to the A pillar above the the top hinge, at the bottom of the rocker panel seam, three bolts pass through the hood hinge support in the middle of the fender, four bolts on the radiator support, three vertical bolts on the top radiator brace, and one bolt at the rear of the wheelhouse to the cab body. Yes, the wheelhouse is spot welded to the fender and must be removed with it. Remove all the bolts listed as well as the bolts retaining the splash shield. The splash shield is a plastic liner connected to both the wheelhouse and the fender. Remove the headlight/cornering lamp assembly. The best way I have found to do this is to loosen the bumper to framebrackets and let the bumper assembly sag to gain clearance. If the upper bumper cover is removed to gain the clearance needed you will more than likely need to get a new cover as the nylon clips have a tendency to break during removal. Once the fender/wheelhouse assembly has been removed use a spot weld cutter to separate the wheelhouse from the old fender. Check the new fender for clearance and fit on the vehicle. Make all the needed adjustments to get the fender to fit correctly. Remove the fender and attach the wheelhouse. This should be done by spot welding. It can also be done using bolts. If using bolts place some 3M double stick weather strip adhesive tape in the seam to prevent direct contact of the parts to prevent rattles and squeaks. Drill the new fender to match the holes made by the spot weld cutter in the wheelhouse. Use stainless bolts and lock nuts so that the assembly can be services if needed. I would also recommend using Wurth Rust Inhibitor on all the seams to prevent rust and once cured it is an excellent adhesive and will reduce noise coming from moving body panels. Good Luck. It is not as bad as it sounds. Take your time and it will be worth the effort.

I bought a 2004 liberty that was wrecked in front on passenger side the battery is fully charged but i have no poiwer to anything im lost could the sensors on back of core support cause this problem

No power to anything will be the battery or the battery cables. Make SURE the battery is fully charged. Have you tested it with a proper amperage draw? Make sure the battery positive is clean and tight as well as the battery negative hooked up properly from the battery to the vehicle ground and is clean and tight

Hood latch won't stay in locked position. Hood is 1 quarter inch high.

There should be rubber bumpers on the bottom of the hood where the latch is. They are located on either side (and ends). Screw them inward for lower closure.

I need to replace the driver's side headlight assembly and need to learn the steps necessary to remove the damaged headlight and insert the new one. From what I can tell, one or more of the front...

Hi,

To remove the headlamp assy. you need to gain access to the bolts that are hidden by the front bumper.. you need to pull back the inner fender well closest to the edge of the front bumper and there is a 10mm bolt going into the bumper you need to remove then you will be able to pull the edge of the bumper away from the fender you will need to remove any clips and or bolts around the grill area to give enough room to pull the bumper cover out of the way enough you need to get your hand and a wrench or socket into the lower part of the fender there is a bolt there that holds the headlamp assy. in remove that bolt as well as the other bolts on the top of the core support and then you will be able to move/wiggle headlamp out enough and disconnect the wiring and remove the assembly be careful not to scratch the fender or bumper cover.. you may want to put some masking tape on the fender and bumper cover so as not to scratch during removal.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

A neighboring car pushed a shopping card into the rear portion of the front drivers side quater panel -- that 6 to 8 inch portion behind the wheel-well. It's pushed in up to 1 1/2 inches max and 8 -10...

you can try removing the quarterpanell,& straightening it,but you are better off getting the offending neighbour to pay a body-shop to fix it Taking the door off is very involved &you will have to re-attach it, (not easy)

Remove headlight assembly from a 2001 Dodge Ram

On the upper grill side of the headlight assy. there
should be 1 or 2 push pins that hold the seal on the
headlight assy to the front of the fender. Also check
for a guide/push pin on the inner top of the assy on
the outer fender side. That should be all there is to
hold the headlight in place. Hope this helps.

Need driver side front quarter panel for 1995

While all those parts are available, if there is really that much damage i'd say you may be better off looking for a new car. The doors and front fender bolt on, but the rear quarter panel is spot welded in MANY spots requiring a lot of work to properly replace. You will probably find the best overall deals at the local bone yards. You may be tempted to buy parts online but keep in mind shipping those heavy parts can cost as much as the part. You can use a site such as copartfinder.com to locate a junkyard near by that has the parts you need.

I have dodge stratus 2001 and I need to change the battery i couldn't find where it is

Front driver's side, black plastic panel towards the front of the driver's side fender. Jack the car and take the wheel off. There are 5 fastners that are there that need to be rotated counter-clockwise a quarter turn. Wiggle that panel out....there's the battery. A bracket keeps it in place, one bolt, one nut. Remove that and the battery slides right out. It is easier to remove it by taking off the tire but you CAN remove the battery with the wheel on. Just turn the wheels all the way to the right, like a hard right hand turn.
