My ranger is dead, I was driving it around doing some shopping and between stores it just completely died in the parking lot. No lights, no radio, No warnings nothing. I was in the store not even 15 minutes. I replaced the Alternator and Battery not even 5 months ago When I get a boost it runs but after driving around to charge the battery, when i park it in my driveway and turn it off it dies again. The lights dont turn on, no radio, It completely dies.

I think you just got a bad battery right from the get go,One quick way to check if your Alt, is good,Pull the pos,+ wire off with the car running if it keeps running then its good, A bad battery is not uncommon The dealer should have tested your Alt, when they put your new battery in,

One thing to look at is the large black plastic "bellows" that comes from the intake plemun towards the air filter. It is common for these to get brittle and crack over time, especially in cold weather. The crack may be closed when the car is in neutral, but when you put it in gear, the engine moves a little and the crack opens up and creates a vacuum leak. Look it over real good and if you find a crack, some duct tape will provide a temporary solution. I hope this helps.
SOURCE: still will not keep battery charge
no the starter wire wil NOT cause this, check and clean all connections at the battery, have the battery and alternator load tested. one or the other is bad. also check for parasitic drain on battery, meaning when everything in the car is off, something is still drawing power, use a volt meter for this test,if you need more help get back to me and we'll go from there Ray

Not a sensor or fuse. Possibly the battery: only way to know is have it checked. Best way is check when car wont start. Should have over 12 volts. I would suspect alternator is not charging battery. Put a voltmeter on battery when car is running. Voltmeter should read 13.5-14 volts. If not, something's not right. Check your battery grounds for tightness and cleaness. Sometimes a loose connection will keep battery from either charging or starting. If you still have the problem, check your starter for a short, drawing too much amperage.
