When i was going to put my new distrbuter in ,i was adjusting the oil pump for the dist, to fit at the right spot, and the head of the flash light fell in the dist and it is plastic except for the spring 1 by 1 inch flash light, but i know the dist seats in corectly. did it go in the deep part of the oil pan. can i run the engine. or do i have to take the oil pan out and how much would that cost.. or would it get stuck in the drive train. i am afraid to start it. and where are the oil lines i can't find them on the bottom of the oil pan
First dont start truck--if you cant fish out part need to drop pan and theirs no oil lines
Don't start the car !!!
Can you see the part from the whole where the distributor goes ?
If you can you may be able to fish it out.
Your distributor has a drive shaft that goes from the dist to the oil pump in the oilpan.
Hopefully it is sitting on top of the shaft.
Their are know oil lines at the bottom of you engine, everything is internal.
If you cant fish them out from the top, the oilpan will have to be removed.
I think your best bet is to try to remove the pieces from the dist hole with a magnet on a shaft or maybe very sticky tape on a shaft.
Good luck, Robert

the depth of the tranny pan isn't really important. if you want to check the fluid let the vehicle idle and check it while its running unless its manual than you'll have to do it from underneath
