Look under the hood to check and make sure there is two steel wire cables connected to the throttle body. i had the same problem on my 02 dodge ram, turns out that just one of the cables came loose

In the front, there should be a bulbous looking device - this is the vacuum chamber for the cruise. Check to make sure the vacuum hose did not slip off. That was the problem on my van.

I have a 2005 dodge 1500 with the 4.7 litre engine. The cruise control is intermittent. Sometimes you turn it on and the cruise light stays on for a bit and sometimes it shuts off within a second or so. Any ideas; without the cruise light on I have no cruise.

My cruise control will not stay engaged. Can it be fixed and how?

mcdevito75 here, The cruise control should be computer activated, check with your local repair shop. Cruise controls will not work below 35 MPH for safety. The computer must be recieveing info you are going less than 35 MPH and shutting it down. Also check vacum lines at the Cruise Contrl actuator, close to the accelerator linkage under the hood.

Cruise control light will not come on after truck warms up 2004 dodge ram pick-up Cruise works ok when first using it , after driving to my destination, shutting off the truck. 15 min later driving again,...

After the light goes out does it come back on while driving down the road?
If it does this sounds as if you may have a heat sensitive problem at the cruise motor. this has a sensoe that turns the light on when it is engaged. when you turn it off and sits a while does the heat under the hood goes higher expanding the circuts an open circut. You may have to replace the board in the motor.

CRUISE CONTROL

My 2003 Ram 1500, would not engage the cruise control, when the speed sensor on the rear axle, was the problem. The other symptoms, speedometer worked irregularly. Replaced speed sensor on top center of rear axle, and problem went away.
