SOURCE: how do you install a shift solenoid on a ford f150

Solenoid or shifting governor. I am aware of a governor on the passenger side of that tranny. It has like a coat hanger type lock over it. It just pulls out once you get the cap off. Let me know if you can't find it.

the overdrive light blinking indicates a mechanical or electrical failure in the trans, there will be a trouble code or codes stored in the computer control module of the system, have a OBD 2 self test to determine that code(s), it is key to deciding the problem with the trans, but it is lioely the trans will need an overhaul but that all depends on the malfunction code you get.

Thanks for your help! My 1998 Ford contour four-cylinder, five-speed manual transmission intermittently has difficulty going into reverse and first gears. The problem is intermittent. Most of the time...

You still have air trapped in teh hydrualic clutch. Bleed again and again until you get the air out. try actuating teh clutch several times fast just before you bleed it.

the clutch is partially applied, that's why it is hard to shift. the synchros can;t overcome the input shaft spinning.

Guaranteed you have air, 100%

ON MY FORD F150 IT WON1T GO INTO REVERSE. SHIFTS

Call a dealer about a new recall. There is another problem in the cruise control that is making it hard to put a vehicle into reverse. There are also problems with brake lights and dash indicators for the ABS all caused by the cruise control. This includes about 16 million various Ford products.

My 2000 Ford Expedition XLT will not go into P,R,N,D,2 and 1..

You know,i had kind of the same problem with my 2000 f150,just incase you didnt check this, look under the dash at the bottom of the steering column, there is a bracket that bolts on with 2 torque bolts at ( t-25 or t-30) the shift cable connects to that bracket and when it loosens up it wont go into park or if loose enough it may not shift to reverse either. An easy way to tell if its loose is if the shift lever feels loose or real easy to move. Also at the transmission where the shift cable connects there is a plastic holder with groves on it for adjustment, dont try adjusting it but inspect it if its loose or broken,if you try adjusting it then its tough to get it back where it needs to be for all the gears to work with the shift indicator tab, about it not starting, that may have to do with the safety neutral switch on the transmission, but double check the linkage to make sure its really tight before worrying about that switch,im not always on line these days but i will help more when i can.Good luck

1990 f150 transmission up shift to early

your modulator valve is unhooked, or bad. The modulator valve is what tells the transmission when to shift and what gear to shift to. It is located on either side of the transmission depending on the model, Im not sure which side your perticular model be on but it looks like a spark advance. I hope that helps you out.
