VW Touareg V6 2005 - Battery seems dead, nothing works
Battery is dead, key is locked in the ignition, power locks do not work. I know the battery is under the seat but where are the connections so I can try to jump start the car?
I have a similar problem but on a 2004 plate, I returned from a 3 month holiday and had lost my keys, i had a spare which I opened the car with but when i put in ignition, the key got stuck. at this point i also realised that the battery is dead, i know the main battery is under the driver seat, however my seats are electric too and would need some electric power before i can move them back to get to the battery, further more the handbrake is electric too so I assume will be difficult to tow anyway.

Unable to jump start car or get any power to it. Very painful to watch the tow truck driver drag the car up onto the bed in order to get it back to the dealership.

If your 2014 Frontier's steering and ignition are locked and wiggling the wheel while turning the key does not unlock it, there are a few possible causes and solutions you can try:
Dead battery: If the battery is dead or low on power, it can cause the steering wheel lock to engage and prevent the key from turning. Try jump-starting the vehicle or replacing the battery to see if that resolves the issue.
Faulty ignition switch: The ignition switch may be faulty and not responding to the key, preventing it from turning. You may need to replace the ignition switch to resolve the issue.
Damaged steering column: The steering column may be damaged or worn, preventing the steering lock from disengaging. In this case, you may need to replace the steering column or have it repaired by a qualified mechanic.
Malfunctioning lock cylinder: The lock cylinder itself may be malfunctioning or damaged, preventing the key from turning. You may need to replace the lock cylinder to resolve the issue.
If it's just had work done on the steering lock I would suspect that the ignition wiring has come adrift in the steering column. If the lights and radio are working the battery is probably OK. As part of the procedure for replacing/fixing the steering lock all ignition connectors are usually removed from the switch, perhaps one has come loose and fallen off the terminal connector.
any type of power/voltage change seems to trigger this issue
The most common symptom is power locks fail and only the driver window quits, however that is on the extended cab.
Steps to fix and it works every time.
take door panel off driver's door Disconnect the wiring attached to window and power lock control unit disconnect battery cables connect the negative to the positive cable(((NO BATTERY CONNECTED))) This will act to short residual voltage in the system
5 minutes later place the key in the ignition and turn to the run position connect the wiring to the window/lock controller connect the negative cable to the battery then the positive open drivers side door turn key to the off position((do not remove yet)) you should get a series of dings through speakers telling you the key is still in the ignition once it begins dinging pull the key out and you should hear the door lock solenoids trigger and the windows should work.
Three years and a very unhappy girlfriend who owns the truck. but she's happy now.
Sounds as though when your battery died the engine imobiIiser locked down. YOU MAY HAVE TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO A LEXUS DEALER AND HAVE THE MASTER KEY AND OTHERS REPROGRAMMED TO THE IGNITION...BUT If you have your wallet key as well , try taking all to the airport. HOLD the card to the dash beside the ignition for at least 20 seconds, then try turning the key several times. I haven`t done an LS but the failsafe when a remote fails is to hold the key beside the ignition for at least 20 seconds .... Also try the lock routine, but I think the issue is in dash..security needing to reboot to your key. My understanding is that the lock routine re initialises the lock setstings when power is restored
You probably caused a short circuit when you changed the light. Change fuse #14. Next time, don't turn the lights on until you are finished changing the lights.
