When a try to start the vehicle it starts for a min the dies if i pump the gas while starting it it usually starts right up. i thought it was the fuel pump. then i was driving and hit some bumps and the van died while driving. the fuel pump would not come back on, checked the filter it was fine. then checked the fuses and the ECM fuse was blown. changed fuses and it started right up without having to pump the gas while turning it over. it starts everytime now. was this the problem all along? or could my fuel pump be going out. also is there something that could have caused the fuse to burn out, or do they just do that over time?
Turning over is engine cranking, not running. I'm not sure I understood your post?
Use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, 3.4L engine, 41--47 psi.
Any applicable trouble codes? To check codes yourself, at the least you need an obd2 code reader.
I'd want to check if system is running rich or lean?
SOURCE: Engine will die
There is a Communication problem between the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and the Engine control module. That is the bad news and is why it's shutting down the engine.
The good news is i believe there is a TSB recall on the 2004 - 2007 chevy aveo for the P0700 problem so it should be covered under warranty.
Believe the TSB# 05-06-01-030D
Good luck and hope this helps and hope it's not a bad ECM. Check the wire harness to the ECM and TCM, look for broken wire or the harness it self gone apart.

Not the IAC, or MAF, or 02
Does the Van Crank over?
Have you checked the IGN Relays? 1,2,and 3?
How did the Battery test out?
Anything below 11.9v battery is dead.
So I suggest that you do not throw any more parts and check the battery again.

loosing fuel pressure, have you replace fuel pressure regulator, if the regulator is bad, it will have not enough pressure in between the injectors and the regulator. the fuel regulator maintain a proper pressure so the injectors will spray the correct amount of fuel every time the computer tells its to. weak pressure will cause injectors not to spray correct amount of fuel into the intake although will cause your engine to starve for fuel just like you have explained. the parts cost around 135 bucks and easy to replace.
SOURCE: 99 chevy venture. battery is fine but it won't start.
it sounds like the fuel pump or fuel filter
