1995 Chrysler starts up fine but after driving it and shutting off ignition, it will not restart until it has set for about an hour I have replaced the water pump, upper intake gasket, front left injector, spark plugs and the coil pack. It is still doing the same thing

Does it happen when its damp outside? I have that problem and I had a friend hotwire the computer with a small roach clip. My car will actually die while it is running if damp and not even start with a jump..with the roach clip thing, you just have someone touch the positive and boom, starts right up!!! Super gerry rig, but it works, every time.

SOURCE: 2003 chrysler 3.8 #1 cylinder misfire

Just wondering if you did a compression test both dry and wet (Squirt of oil in cylinder). You seem to have covered things pretty well. If compression test is okay I would look for something electrical such as crank or cam position sensor that is intermittant or has corrosion at a wiring connector.

Another thought...are there any vacuum lines near the #1 intake manifold port? It may be as simple as a vacuum leak.

SOURCE: The car cranks but won't start. There is no spark,

If you remove the fuel line and crank the engine and get fuel then you could be assured that the crank sensor works but if there is no fuel while cranking then the crank sensor is most likely the fault. If the crank sensor is not the problem then it is most likely in the coil or distributor which the 97 is notorious for.

I have 84 ramcharger started fine used for about 1/2 hour plowwing driveway shut off would not restart until cooled off 2nd time it has done this?

Sounds as if the ignition control module is getting hot and not allowing it to restart. Had the same issue with a Dodge b-250 van, except for the plowing part. It would run for about an hour and start sputtering and shut off. After it cooled down, van would start and run great for the same length of time and do it again.

Car runs and drives but after about 20 mjn it shuts down and wont start again for hour or two some times longer

try this.. when your ingition module gets hot it shuts down until cooled off..replace the ignition module and see if the condition goes away..take it where they can read any codes on the car for free(usually autozone or maaco) then see what may be up with it..

1995 jeep wrangler just stops running without warning.

A bad crank sensor will shut the jeep off suddenly, while driving down the road, then restart later and it repeats over and over until you replace it.

1995 ford escort will not restart after driving on hot days until you wait 4 hours

You may want to replace your crankshaft position sensor. They tend to "open" the circuit when they get heated after they have begun to wear out.

I HAVE 95 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. AFTER DRIVING CAR FOR SHORT DISTANCE WILL NOT START. LET SET COUPLE HOURS IT WILL START. MAY GO 5OR 6 DAYS NO PROBLEM THEN AGAIN WILL NOT START. HAD TWO GUY CHECK IT wE...

Had similar problem with 96 Jeep 4.0L engine. Tracked it down to the connector for the distributor pickup. Spliced in another connector and hasn't stalled since. Also, have you had any codes? Easy way to check on Chrysler products: turn key on, off, on, off, on (not starting) and watch the 'engine light' on the dash. It will flash off/on. Count the flashes with short pauses between and longer pauses between code. When you get a 5 count and 5 count, that is the end. This may also help
