1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee seat belt noise and light.

When I start my 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited the seat belt light comes on as usual and chimes 6 times. Normally once I put my seat belt on, the light goes out and the chime quits.

Now the chime turns into a constant beeping/buzzing after the 6 chimes are over and the light does not go out, even though the seat belt is used.

I can not find anything wrong with the seat belt itself. I removed the fuses 8 and 19 which made it stop. I replaced these fuses with new ones and the light and chimes come right back on.

Anybody know what is causing this problem?

Thank you so much. I started my Jeep and the noise (that has been driving me crazy for 4 mo. )Reached down the right side of the driver seat and wiggled the sensor wire and it stopped. I will replace the switch. I'm so happy to have found the problem.

I have a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The seat belt alarm goes off constantly with the seat belts fastened or not fastened.

There is an electrical contact in the bottom of the seat belt buckle, and associated wiring that has a connector under the seat. Check that with a multimeter for continuity.

Also, this is a function of the Body Control Module, so you may have a communication problem. This can only be solved or confirmed by getting an auto electrician to connect a pro grade scan tool computer to the OBDII port and checking.

How do i know if my 95 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0 inline 6 is an interference engine

You have a timing chain that is good for the life of the engine. The only thing that could need replacing is the chain tensioner if it starts to make noise.

AIR BAG LIGHT AND CHIME RINGS PERIODICALLY

I have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee Limited and Had similar problem. Found out that a wire/connection harness had gotten cut under PASSENGER seat.from seats moving back and forth. It's part of the airbag system, it tells airbag system if seatbelt is fastened and if occupant is in seat. Since the wire is broken, it can't report back to air back system and activates the light. try this, hope it helps.

After i start my 95 jeep grand cherokee limited

crank or camshaft sensor will cause this, a bad crank sensor will cause it not to start or start hard. it controls timing and sends info to pcm for proper fuel mixture and spark at the right time.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee seat belt light does not go out.

Hi,
First of all, I take it you are using your seatbelt.
There is a small micro switch in the bottom of the seatbelt plug.
Check that it`s still in place. It`s only a contact breaker switch.
You could unwire it to stop the annoying light, but will need to fix it for the next MOT
