There are 2 bolts that hold the reserviour on the vehicle once you remove those bolts you will need to take the hoses loose they should unscrew and then you can put the new one in the bolts are at the top and bottom of the reseviour

2003 dodge grand caravan problems with whining noise. Had power steering Pump replaced. Still whining noise . Louder when turning the steering wheel.

There is a relatively simple solution to the problem you and many others are having. The power steering reservoir contains a mesh screen filter. Over time it will start to plug up and cause the symptom you and many others are having. Replacing the reservoir will 99% of the time resolve the issue. I have done this successfully on many Caravans, Town and Countrys, and Voyagers.

The part is available from you local Dodge dealer.

To remove
1. remove the two screws that hold the reservoir to the intake plenum.
2. Loosen the nut on the backside and under the reservoir. It is in between the coil and the reservoir. a 10mm socket and extension will work.
3. place a bunch of rags under the reservoir to catch the power steering fluid that will spill.
4. remove the two hoses from the reservoir.

After you intsll the new one top of with ATF+4 transmission fluid. This is the only fluid that is recommended for you P/S system by the Dealer. Typically I will flush the power steering system prior to installing the new reservoir to make sure the fluid is as clean as possible in order to get the maximum life from the new reservoir.

hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Where can I find the power steering resevior

there is a good reason why you can not find the power steering reservoir. It does not have one.

You vehicle has electronic power steering. There is no hydraulic pump, hoses, or reservoir. The steering column has an electric motor and a control unit mounted to it under the dash.

F250 2wd, When I put a new steering gear in, how do I flush the power steering pump

disconnect the return pipe to the reservoir, and put it into container to catch the oil.block off the hole in the reservoir[where the hose would have gone].fill reservoir with new ATF oil.jack front of vehicle up,turn the steering back and forth.that will purge any old oil into the container.briefly start motor, that will push new oil thru the system, and clean out pump.then reconnect return hose, refill reservoir, and start motor, turning the steering back and forth, making sure reservoir is always full.when the oil stops going down, put vehicle back on ground, and check power steer operations

I have a 2003 dodge durango that is leaking power string fluid

They do make power steering leak stopper although I have never had much success with it. I don't quite understand what you mean coolant lines for power steering because that I know of on your vehicle I don't believe there is a cooler for your power steering.

Problem with power steering

Either your power steering pump is is weak or has bad seal. Is the reservoir full? If so, You will likely have to pull the pump and check that it can **** and blow fluid.

2003 dodge intrepid with a loud whine from the engine compartment. Many state that its the power steering pump. The PS fluid level is fine. Car has 110,000 miles on it.

use a garden hose to locate the noise hold it to your ear and touch the ps pump , and other engine parts ,but if not the ps pump i would check the altenator bearing
