It's not really good to let a car idle that long, that have catylitic converters, they can get damaged from too much heat build up,which might have happened here, If not I would take and have it checked for a blown head gasket.

I it's possible that you have a intake or head gasket leak that's going into your engine block signs to check for if your car seems to be missing just a little bit one of your cylinders could tell you the area that the head gasket may be leaking or the intake gasket need to check your coolant level every now and then to see if you are losing any coolant out of your Reservoir or your radiator

SOURCE: white smoke mercedes benz 2008 gl-class 320

Seek out another mechanic. White smoke from the exhaust is a symptom of coolant entering the combustion chamber. Most of the time this is caused by a blown head gasket. A loss of coolant with no apparent leak, a white foamy substance on the underside of the oil fill cap, oil level overfull, and air bubbles escaping from the radiator are other symptoms of a blown gasket or cracked head. Stop driving this vehicle until you have this diagnosed and repaired. A compression test will verify this. Serious engine damage will occur if you indeed have an internal leak so make sure one way or the other.

Hello, if you are losing coolant as you say than the most probable place is through your head and into your exhaust system, it is highly likely you have a cracked head or a major head gasket leak. The only other place it can go is if you have a automatic vehicle with the cooler on the bottom of the radiator tank (crack between two tanks), it will go straight into your transmission, you can tell if the transmission oil is overfull and watery (thin and whitish).

Oil consumption

Not exactly a solution, but check your coolant bottle and see what color your coolant is. See if it looks like it is contaminated with oil or if it looks and smells fine.

When a vehicle has been left for a long time without being started it will need the following: New fuel, New battery, change of engine oil, possibly transmission oil and brake fluid as well. All fluids in the engine will tend to settle and separate out over time if left. Ideally you start the engine weekly if you put a car aside.

My mercedes 1994 C220 just started smoking a lot and the auto is slipping, could this be a diaphragm problem.

No it sounds like you have a transmission leak, oil will be going onto the exhaust causing the smoke and lack of oil will cause the trans will slip.

ROUGH IDLE,WET SPARKPLUGS,KILLS

The Symptoms tell me it is a head gasket. A leaky or bad head gasket would cause all of the problems that you mentioned.

Burning water causes White Smoke, Burning Oil causes Black Smoke. The oil and water are mixing with the gas in the cylinders and causing it to run bad. Pull out the dipstick and look at the oil on it. Does it look like good oil? Or does it look watery and or foamy or grey colored. Open up the radiator and look inside, do you see oil?

This seems almost text book to me... I would have someone local to you to have a look at it to be sure.

Many possible causes. Spark plugs, HT wires, Distributor cap or rotor, Stale fuel, Ignition coil or a fuel clog somewhere.
