SOURCE: car wont start

Its not to hard..part is about $ 50

  1. Remove the distributor cap from the distributor, and set it aside (spark plug wires still connected).
  2. Disconnect the harness connector.
  3. Remove the distributor.
  4. Remove the TFI module retaining screws.
WARNING Step 5 must be followed EXACTLY; failure to do so will result in damage to the distributor module connector pins.
  1. To disengage the TFI module's terminals from the distributor base connector, pull the right side of the module down the distributor mounting flange and then back up. Carefully pull the module toward the flange and away from the distributor.
  2. Coat the TFI module baseplate with a thin layer of silicone grease (FD7AZ-19A331-A or its equivalent).
  3. Place the TFI module on the distributor base mounting flange. Position the module assembly toward the distributor bowl and carefully engage the distributor connector pins. Install and torque the two TFI module retaining screws to 9-16 inch lbs.
  4. Install the distributor assembly.
  5. Install the distributor cap and check the engine timing.

SOURCE: 1994 Ford Ranger won't shift into drive

In 9 out of 10 cases when I see this problem in the ranger, it is the planetary gear in the transmission. It is made of the cheapest metal available. It breaks usually from going to park before the truck stops or switching from reverse to drive while still rolling. Just a Idea , But I hope it isn't that . Reverse will work fine for a while, and have no forward gears.

1990 Ford Bronco II manual transmission extremely hard to shift will not go into reverse

90 Ford Bronco II: You have to put it in whichever gear you want it in before you start it or it wont shift at all. Then once you are going its extremely hard to shift into the other gears. Reverse is the only gear that sounds like its grinding.

My 91 Ford Bronco wont shift on its own, need to manually.

I don't believe your problem is the neutral safety switch, that is for not allowing the car to start in any postion, except for neutral and park. I think your problem maybe the transmission modulator, it is at the back of the transmission. It operates from engine vacuum, so it maybe bad or it's not getting any vacuum. If you pull the vacuum hose off the modulator, and you find transmission fliud in the hose, the modulator is bad.

1994 bronco eddie bauer. I have no brake lights

I think there are 2 switchs on that brake pedal. You are right tho about the brake switch causing your problem.
If you fix your brake light problem your other problem will be fixed also.. check to see if the wires at the brake pedal switch are energized. I am betting on a ground problem.
