If you have the original key you can look at the end of it where the actual key meets the plastic and you will see 4 engraved numbers that will be the original key code, if you have the manual you can look in it for the key code that you can use to reset the security key code to what every you want.

If you are referring to the code for cutting a new key, it is found by the passenger side door lock on the inside of the door. You have to remove the door panel, and I had to look through o hole in the framing after that in order to see my code on a 94 maxima. It began with an X. . . and was written on a whitish grey plastic piece slightly to the right of the lock.

Only a Nissan dealer can cut you a key. Most will require the vin number and proof of ownership before they will cut you a key.

We have lost the keys to our 1997 Nissan Maxima. We can open the doors but have no keys for them or the ignition.

you can contact the dealer with the Vin number and they should be able to cut a key for you...or...call a lock smith and he can change out the locks.

Key is broke off in ignition

If enough of the key is stil in there, you can use a screwdriver - but I'd try to get it out - Nissan dealer has a key code so they can use your VIN number to make a new key, but use some tweezers or a pick set and magnet of some sort..and try to get the rest out, then Nissan can have a new one made for you...

Key Code

The dealership can cut you a new one based on the code if you provide the VIN number to the car, and your title/registration/photo ID (so you can prove you own the car and that you are who you say you are).
