Fuel pump 94 chevy 4.3.... 5 speed.......i was wondering what the 4 wires off the fuel pump do....like which color goes were

so what is there the 96 to 99 full size had a problem with the fuel pump connectors--corrosion causing short or overheating--- so when the pump failed you were advised to cut out and replace the connector with a new design one [flat]

You might have a distributor pick-up problem. This is what fires the distributor. When it registers the engine is turning it turns on the fuel pump. And the relay should be on the firewall above the heater box.

NO, my guess no start, and you didnt check fuses first, the FI fuse kills the pump dead, fuses are always first.

its not a ford is the answer, its really a suzuki swift .(in Gm snake skins)
and you busted a wire to the pump back there.
or the connector just popped, the suzuki cooler for pump is pink.
the pink is the biggest wire in the harness there.
the fsm shows this in the last sections for harness wring.
12vdc cranking engine, is the power to the pump and rules.
got spark? x3 or x4 (engine options vary)
if spark is lost on all cars the ECU brain cuts fuel.
(for 3 reasons total , ask)
1.0L 1.3 single cam, and 1.3L twin cam.
all three have same wiring and colors for fuel pump relay.
and same logic.
here is one , at random, picked.
if the ECU sees good park and TPS not stuck at full throttle (WOT)
then it closes this relay , cranking, (and running held)

FI fuse and IG-coil and dome fuses must be good.
the CEL lamp (dash) must glow keyon, or fuse blew..
i have all diag, info on this car, ask. tell all symptoms first.

I don't have the diagrams. Not buying it either. But it is either pink or grey. Anything black is ground. Since 99% of the ones I do is grey, I choose this one. A 94 has 4 wires. Two are ground. one is the fuel pump, the other is the fuel sender/gas gauge. Ground it , then add 12 volts to the others. It won't hurt it. If you won't the wiring schematics, Go to alldatadiy.com ad you can buy them, plus everything else about your car.

could be clogged fuel injectors or fuel filter could be plugged or your fuel pump is weak and needing replaced,what makes fuel pumps go bad in most vehichles is driving with less than a 1/4 tank of gas,it gets the fuel pump hot and works it too hard

On most 92-94 models you have a red and yellow wire coming from the inertia switch to the tank select switch if you have dual tanks, then a red wire to one pump and a brown and white to the other pump. Both pumps use orange or black for ground.

Just did my fuel pump on the 2001 isuzu rodeo. Well here is what you need to do about the different wire colors. First disconnect your negative battery. Drop the fuel tank and replace pump. Remember to have a splice kit in hand. Ok now here is how you connect the different colored wires. Black goes with black. Gray goes with black and orange wire. Purple goes wit blue and yellow. And the last wires goes together. I hope this helps.

A FAULTY FUEL PUMP.IDLE SPEED TOO LOW.A STUCK OPEN EGR VALVE AND PVC VALVE.YOU WILL HAVE TO DROP FUEL TANK TO REMOVE FUEL PUMP.

there were some production changes in 1998 to the fuel pump wiring, so the connector can have 2 diff fuel pump power wire colors, the most common color is grey, but the the harness at the tank has just 4 wires, the larger wires at the four wire oval connector are the fuel pump 12 Volt and the other is the ground, it is black, the other 2 wires are the sending unit, also the connectors ( Chevy factory service bulletin) on this year had a problem with burning, so if you get a new fuel pump always replace the 4 wire fuel pump connector.
