SOURCE: 1991 Chevy Astro Back doors will not open

You can remove door trim panels from inside the car, panel will come off even the door is closed.
Than put you hand inside door and pull levers to open door.

SOURCE: have a 2004 avalanche locking problem

There is a button on the drivers side control panel on the door, where the power window controls are at.. This button is square and it controls the door locks in the back so, young kids can't accidentally open the door. Pressing this button should solve your problem. Good Luck

SOURCE: door won't open from inside '98 silverado

your door rod to your latch must have popped off your inside door latch. take your door pannel off and the door rood will be unhooked

Testimonial: "That was exactly what happened. It was not easy getting the panel off and back on, and I didn't see what caused the rod to pop off, but if it happens again I will at least no what the problem is. "

My righr rear door sensor say door ajar

I have the same problem with my left rear door (it also sets off the alarm at times when parked). I take some wd40 and spray it into the inside lock slide and move it back and forth a few times. that seems to fix it.

Driver side power window stuck, but the other three windows all work fine - 2002 GMC Jimmy

Define "STUCK"! can you hear a sound comming from the door when you push the window button "like its trying to work but cant" ?? then yes it is truly "stuck" but, is no noise, then check out the window switch in the drivers door, it may be bad. now if it is "stuck" then, remove the door pannel and see what is wrong, could be several different types of probles inside the door that could cause this problem.. most of the time you can simply spray WD-40 on some of the moving parts in the door, then gentally convince the window to move. caution, be very carefull not to have your hands or fingers inside the door while trying to operate the windoww up or down...... you could get hurt if things got moving.
The other problem could be that the indow motor has failed. same thing,, take off door pannel and replace window drive motor, it will have the "regulator built on to it". so replace complete unit.
Have the manual on this jimmy will help!
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Passenger side window fell down and wont go back up. Motor seems to be running. Might be off the track. Dont have an owners manual and not sure how to get to the window.

replace the door!! No "just kidding" you realy need a manual, but, other wise, you must remove the door pannel each door is different, but the pannel must come off, then you can get to the track, you will have to see why the window is not functioning because several things can be wrong. you will have to find the bad parts and repair or replace them... go slow and take your time.
dont be afraid of messing up. Ive gone to the junk yard before and looked for a car like mine that had the door apart all ready and looked it over and studied it before i took mine apart.
some times you can practice on one at the junk yard !!!
Not much help sorry! good luck!

2002 Chevy S10 Third Door Won't Open

I have a 02 s 10 with a stuck bottom 3rd door latch. I took my seat balts loose removed the door panel, also removed the plastic latch yoy use to open door, the top latch was alredy opened and I put a needle nose vise grip on the lever going to the bottom I used to much and broke the little plastic retaing piece that holds the lever.I looked inside door with light saw my latch was in open pos and took pry bar to pry botton door from inside, once opened i used a 10 mm 1/4 in drive to take out 4 bolt's to latch.removed latch placed in vice and heated with burnsomatic torch, the latch is coated with a plastic so i burned it all off with vice grip on the lever to open and pliers the work the part that catches door striker I kept working it until it freed up then put antu seige on put back in truck. I recomend buying a new latch and put anti seize on it. that's my plan but at least it's working for now. or get a good used one from a junk yard. you can e mail me at [email protected] for ant Q's

Two of my door locks will not unlock w/ remote or inside button.

The door lock actuators or 'solenoids' have failed. This seems to be pretty common on Windstars - I've just replaced a couple on my '02. (Ironically, the original batteries in the remote fobs are still going strong, they lasted longer than the actuators). You can buy third party replacement parts, the front door ones are 'handed' driver & passenger, but a common part will work for both sliding doors. I don't have instructions for removing the door panels, but search online - it's not tricky. The original actuators are riveted in place - you'll need to drill out these rivets. The new actuator can be held in place with a nut, bolt & couple of washers. Replacing these parts isn't too difficult - the first one took me about 1.5 hours, but once I knew what I was doing, the second one took about 0.5 hours. Good luck.

My driver side door will unlock but won't open.

This sounds like the LAtch is STICKING and needs to be Replaced or Lubed up Real Good. But Also the Lock Cylinder Needs Lubercated, I Recomend PB Blaster< Its a PENETRATING OIL that Does the JOB GOOD. You Must FIRST get the Door Back OPEN to Srpay the LATCH down. You can Play with it till it Opens Or have A $40.00 an hour Lock-Smith Do it for you. I Know this may not seem like Much HELP But if you can Get the Door open the Rest is a Breeze. To REPLACE Latch>>.Remove Door Pannel, There ARE HIDDEN Screws From the Handle UP But the Lower part of Pannel is SNAPED on. There are Links to & From Latchto Remove, 1 From Inside Handle, 1 From Outside Handle, 1 From Inside LOCK, 1 From Outside LOCK, And For POWER LOCKS, there Is 1 from the Power Lock Solinoid. TAKE A Super lose Up PICTURE of it if Possible, For Memory of Where they Go. The Lock has 3 - 4 Screws IN DOOR JAM SIDE that Holds it in Remove them and Latch Comes Out. REVERSE to INSTALL. Hope this Helps you!
