The oil pressure warning light only comes on when oil pressure drops below 4psi at this moment there is no oil in the engine most often it does not get to this point because oil, water etc is checked every week. It could be your engine was using oil which would point to an engine fault.

We call the oil warning light, an "idiot light"! At highway speed if the light comes on (at 4psi) you are already in deep do-do! It's way too late.
Sorry, but I'll bet your engine is toast........

Motor on Mazda 6 2005 4 cyl. seems to have seized,I removed balancer to replace oil seal, I did not know that it would have to be removed with special tool, cranked slow then seized

did you leave the wrench on the balancer when you tried to remove it? Perhaps the wrench jammed against the frame and stopped the engine.

Seized engine

Does it have a pressure gauge or oil light, if either did not tell you there was a problem they could have malfunctioned, but it with no oil it had to have gone some where. By regular service do you mean you change the oil at a specific number of miles, but do you check it at least weekly or something within reason? A high mileage engine is going to have some wear and need to be checked more often.

Ran low on oil car shut down added oil to right level car will not start. Took battery cable loose to rebot still willnot start

Seized !!! Engines are not computers, they will not "reboot"! You have heated two metals so hot that they have fused together inside the engine. Sorry you will need a new motor.

If the oil light is on and the engine knocks then there is major damage in the engine. Pull and replace the engine.

Hi . Unfortunately it's a common problem with mazda6 engine. When they run low on oil the crank shaft tend to get damaged. And some times people tend to top up oil rather than changing oil between 6000 &10000kms .Yep the engine is seized cost less replacing the engine than repairing it.good luck....

2005 mazda 3 2.3l that is burning oil (no leaks)

possibly the pcv but check if your cars exhaust smoke is blueish or white in color if it does and your car doesnt have an oil leak then sure its burning engine oil along with fuel, the piston rings is defective, since you replaced engine oil the additive that the owner has put with the oil to prevent blowby is gone thats why it starts burning oil.....

2004 Mazda3 - 135k - engine seized up with no oil but changed reg

I would think whoever replaced the engine oil also did not tighten the oil drain plug,,and you can bet the dealership or garage that done this,,will squirm their way out of this one if they can.
Good luck buddy!!

Clicking sound,low rpm idle, and

If you ever have an oil leak it really should be fixed right away unless this happened all at once. Go to a local mech or if there is an Autozone around go there and have them check the Engine Light code for you for free. You will have more info to work with.
