Take out the tranny on a 1995 chevy blazer

I need help taking out the transmission on a 1995 chevy blazer 4x4 4.3. ii have a tranny i just dont want to pay someone 700 to put it in. is there anyway i can doit by myself and a couple friends?

    Oh And You'll Need A Good Jack To Hold It Cause They Are Really Heavy From The Bottom. They Sell The Repair Manual For Your Truck At Autozone For About $20.00 But Its Fairly Easy To Do You Just Need To Be Mechanically Inclined.

What year of transmissions will interchange with a95 chevy blazer
You can't go older. Changes were made in 1994 so some trannys from that year would fit but others won't, so best to leave them all alone. Sticking within 3-4 years from yours should be no problem. The scrap yard can tell you for sure .

Nothing after 1995, because from 1996 on the transmissions are for OBD II. Your truck has OBD I.

What kind of oil and transmission fluid does it
Oil would be 5W30 according to GM but it would have enough mileage by now so that you could go heavier if you wanted, 10W30 or 10W40 if it burns some. The transmission would use Dexron II or whatever replaces it. Read the label on the back to make sure that what you are buying can be used as a substitute for Dexron II. Hope this helps.

there are a handfull of secrets to rebuild one of these. An ATSG rebuilding manual will give you nearly everything you need. The secrets usually aren't in the books though.

Transmission leaks, clunks into gear
Well your clunking noise is most likely the u-joints the leaking pan is the tranny pan what you would have to do is get a tranny kit and change the pan gasket tranny filter and fluid or take to a shop and have a tranny service done.

Wanna know if i can put a tranny for basic 1995 riviera in my Supercharger
you will most probably need a beefed up tranny to take the power of the engine, I have just installed a 350 supercharged chevy motor in my sons car with a Turbo 350 transmission and a shift kit which I have been told by an auto trans mechanic may not take the power of that engine.
It is costing him $1500 australian to have it reconditioned so I hope it will survive the rides

IT IS NOT GOING INTO NEUTRAL. IT HAS LOST THE DIRECT DRIVE CLUTCH PACK INTERNALLY. SOUNDS LIKE IT IS HIGH MILEAGE. IF SO AND YOU CHANGE THE FLUID IT CLEANS UP ALL THE VARNISH IN THE TRANNY AND THE END RESULT IS TRANNY MALFUNCTIONS DEPENDING ON WHAT KIND OF CARE IT HAS HAD IN THE PAST.
