Hi Ahmed, If the vehicle is fitted with a carburetor and a low pressure fuel pump, you can have a universal electric pump fitted and fit it into the fuel line between the tank and the existing pump, (left in place). If the diaphragm of the existing pump is damaged and allowing fuel leakage into the sump, remove the mechanical pump and have a plate made to cover the opening, make a gasket and fit the plate in place of the mechanical pump. If the vehicle has fuel injection, a Toyota hi pressure delivery fuel pump can easily be fitted into the fuel tank in place of the original. Regards John

First from the fuel tank in side the fuel tank there is filter remove the screws on the top where the fuel gauge fitted when you remove gauge you can see fillter that is one sometimes blocked.
Next if you check fuel filter it is ok, but nissan sunny has fuel filter inside the caburator where fitted fuel pipe from the fillter clean that filler.
ather thiing is check your connections any leak or loose.

The tank does not need to be dropped. There is a access panel either under the cushion of the rear seat or in the trunk. I have to replace the pump on my 02

Check in the fuse block to check for the fuel pump relay.
SOURCE: Where is the fuel pump located on a 1984 subaru Gl ?
I have a 1984 Gl Wagon 4WD; the fuel pump is located on the passenger side, on the frame rail under the back door, just in front of the rear wheel. It and the fuel filter are accessed by dropping the mounting plate that also serves as a protective plate. Again, this is the 4WD non-turbo EA81 engine GL Wagon; could be different on the 2WD version.

Try drivers side in rear hatch, ahead of wheel well area, behind trim panel.
