I get in and start the car the rpm is at 1000. I rev the engine the rpm goes up I let off the gas the rpm drops to 1000 and stays there, Shouldn't it go to 0 if my foots off the gas? Help.
No,only on carburated engines it,idles down to the set point,on yours,it's fuel injected, pushing gas pedal won't kick idle down, should go down after a certain amount of time, does it automatically,If you start and drive a 5 mile ride and stop at a stop sign,it should idle at it's set point if there's no engine problems, which may be.5 to .7 on your tac. When you normally first start,it will idle between 1000 to 1200 rpm's,don't push on gas,let idle say 15 seconds, put in drive and go.

You have a vacume leack, most likly on your PCV valve, or on the intake manifold there are a few rubber hoses that you should check for cracks and or leaks. When you find it go to the part store and buy then replace, you may e-mail me if you have any other questions [email protected]

One of the easiest and cheapest ways to know for sure, or at least a good idea of where problem is, would be to stop at one of the big autoparts stores and ask for free diagnostic code scan. They will usually do it free, and if that doesn't point you in right direction, get back to us with those codes that were retrieved, and we will gladly help you out.
Testimonial: "Thank you! While the answer did not fix my problem it gave me a direction to go in. I did not know that the auto parts stores did that."
SOURCE: Oil light comes on and "bings" when the tack shows 1000 rpm.
I have no idea how many miles are on the van but 1st lets talk about the oil lite, it is telling u that the engine has less than 10 PSI of oil pressure, this may be the pressure sending unit on the engine is defective, if it does have low oil pressure then severe damage to the engine bearings can result, the click is most likely the contacts in the starter solenoid are burnt, they act up more cold and give the click you hear. I have no idea about the steering issue, without hearing it is almost imposs to diagnose such concerns. In closing I highly recommned that you address the low oil pressure concern ASAP
That is a code for an invalid skim key. If you have another skim key try it. If it does the same thing then the skim module may be bad.
SOURCE: engine light on ,2500 rpm surge, and no cruise control
That is normal operation. Take the car for a ride and try it then. Zoom Zoom
