Check the power steering switch, located under the power steering pump. This problem will set a code 52 on a two digit code system, for the 2007 Lincoln Town Car.
How long ago were the parts changed? When power steering components are replaced the air must be purged from the system. When you say "overheat" - what are the symptoms? Burned smell? Bubbles in the fluid?
if you are going to replace the pump, also replace the two hoses to and from the pump. first remove the belt. then you will need a wheel puller to remove the pulley off the front of the pump. then the pump is held on by 2 or 3 bolts.
Start by checking power steering fluid then see if noise is coming from power steering pump. listen in area of power steering pump while someone turns steering wheel for you.
I suggest replacing the pump...after you have bought a seal kit and tools to remove the pressed on pully you will have spent twice the money....most auto stores will replace the pulley for you at a small charge
