Recently bought this truck used from a Chevy dealership; just rolled over to 90k miles, overall in very nice shape. Checked the A/C to make sure it was cold briefly when on test drive, seemed nice and cold. Long story short, i was sitting in the passenger seat and realized that even with the A/C set on cold for both sides, I was getting only hot air from passenger side vents. Coolant level was a little low (thinking it might be a vacuum issue)...refilled with no joy. Should I be patient to see if an air bubble in the line passes keeping actuators from flipping, or is this something more serious? Stepper motor maybe? Simple disconnect of the battery to let everything reset? Any insight someone can give on a similar issue would be great!! Thanks much in advance!!

I asked around a bit about the problem and that piece of info was brought to me as a possible solution; didn't sound quite right, but I wasn't going to simply throw it out.
At any rate, went out and did some listening like you suggested and with the truck running, A/C on...I moved the driver control side switch to heat and back, and I hear (quietly) everything changing vents from hot air source to cool and back. When I move passenger switch in same fashion...nothing at all happens (obviously...if it did I wouldn't be having this issue). Didn't hear any obvious leaks...but am going out again to pull off that access panel for a closer look. I popped the hood and hear what sounds like an air leak of sorts on the driver side...up my the intake manifold. Messed with any obvious hose in hopes of a leak to no avail. Keep it coming...thanks.

Okay, so after some serious looking...i'm definitely leaning towards it being an electronic issue; either the temperature control switch for the passenger side itself (bad component in that module somewhere) or the stepper motor itself. There are no vacuum lines that control temp in the cab...from the looks of it, it's all by switch and motor, lol. And if I'm only getting hot air, she's stuck to the hot side. May go and try to turn that so I'm at least getting cool air. I'll still have control or defrost, driver side, etc. Thinking about taking the module to GM and letting them tell me if its bad or not...

That was supposed to read "control OF defrost"...etc.
see anything that looks like a small film cannister with air hoses going to it... that may be the culprit... tho if you have one side working in the cab i'm thinking you be looking there...

i'm uncertain what low radiator level would have to do with vacuum leaks ... be that as it may listen under the dash for any obvious vacuum leaks... then inside the engine compartment near the firewall.
