87 Dodge ignition module location

I have an 87 Dodge D100 with a 318. I want to change the ignition module but cannot find it. The shop manual shows it mounted with the ballast resistor in the corner of the engine bay near the vaccum booster.
All I have there is an empty spot where it should be located. I have looked all over the engine bay and I cannot find it or the ballast resistor. I have a single electronic module distributor.

It is a pick up module in the distributer then to the coil!

I think yours has an ignition module which can be checked at parts store. Could also be bad coil. If you must have wiring diagram, get shop manual.

Where is the black ignition box located on a 2001 saturn?
If it's the ignition module you're talking about, it's located underneath your ignition coils. The easiest thing to do to be sure, and not take my word for it, is to go down to O'reilly's or any other auto parts store, and buy a shop manual for your car. I don't do any troubleshooting without having a shop manual handy.

The Powertrain Control Module or PCM controls all of the ignition duties on this engine. There is no separate ignition module.

if you are not getting any fire from the coil check the ignition resistor mounted on fire wall. you can have someone to turn key over to start and u can take test light and check both sides of resistor . if no fire on side going to coil (replace it). hope this will help!!!!

They don't have an ignition module per say.. You firing is controled by the PCM, which is the computer and is locater under your air intake box, which has to be remover for access. How did you come up with the idea it was a bad ignition module??
