I just purchased a 03 Altima for my daughter that the dealer said needed a new ECM. I had a replacement installed by my mechanic, then had the car towed to the dealer to have it reflashed. Between the ECM, keys and two other sensors being reflashed at cost of $300, the car cranked and ran fine. A couple of hours later it would turn over, but not crank. Anyone have an idea of what it could be. Paying to have it towed again is getting costly.

first check your fuel system, replace fuel filter, also check your fuel pressure regulator on your fuel rail it may be leaking internally if ok check your fuel pump operation. if your fuel system is ok then check for a restricted catalytic converter its a common fault I encounter with them. if that to checks out ok then have the ecm scanned by a shop or the dealer could be a faulty engine speed sensor or crank or cam sensor
All major systems such as A/C use a fuse but it's called a fusible link. These are designed to carry very heavy current flows, when these go they melt in half, they are located usually under the hood, they are held in place by 2 small screws, parts stores should carry them, but the dealer will. You must replace it with exactly the same type, nothing else will do.
Take it to an auto upolstery shop, they may be able to repair the damage, or recover the seat.
Failing that, you can check the auto wreckers, and finally the dealer.
this problem could be caused by the mass air flow censor, i had the same problem with my car. it is really pricey at the dealer so you might want to check elsewhere for this part. I found one at a scrap yard for 85% less that the dealer and i also got life time warranty, the dealer does not offer any warranty on this part.
does the check engine light flash or is it on when the car misfires?? Bythe way, Nissan has a new program available for your ECM/computer for the long cranking condition. Check with your local NIssan dealer. Also spark plugs are rated for 105K, You have 110K on it. Check your plugs and make sure, that you use NGK if they need to be replaced. Also, look at your overflow bottle. If its down, top it off to FULL mark and monitor the level for few days. See if it goes down in like a week. I have seen some headgasket problems, where the coolant gets into the cylinders and drown the spark plug, causing a misfire. Let me know what you find. Lets get to the bottom of this and lets fix it.
