I was having problem with my vehicle, where it would cut off while running. A friend put his computer on it and said that I needed to change the Camshaft position Sensor (crank angle sensor. I purchased the part online (not cheap), and we swapped them. The vehicle will not start. If we put the old one back in, it will start, but will cut off. Any help would be appreciated especially cause this is my wife's ride.
Thanks.

hi,
spark plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, or fuel pump might be getting ready to go.
maybe a vacuum leak, hook it up to a vacuum gauge and see if the needle is steady, or take it to autozone and have them run a OBD test. I think its free at autozone.

NO, the engine is an overhead camshaft the rocker arms ride directly on the camshaft so their is no need for a lifter, by the way the valve lash should be .003-.005 of an inch.
SOURCE: Where is the camshaft position sensor located 2001
Yes would give those very symptoms. Unsure about location...either fitted to look onto front crankshaft pulley or fitted on bellhousing area to look onto rear flywheel.
