Not clear on a cooling module...there are relays which operate the cooling fans is this what you mean? there is atemp sensor that has wires connected to it mounted in the block that will tell the fans to come on to cool the car..if this sensor is bad the system will not function properly hence with the fans if they dont come on the car wont cool down either..need each one checked and replace whats broken..good luck..

Absolutely , stay away from dealerships unless you are having free warranty work done.

Testimonial: "Thanks. I've got a couple small-shop options & have always thought that dealerships charge way too much. Can't imagine why a 30K check would cost $650"

Code p0128 thermostat

If the coolant is actually warming up properly, it could be the coolant temperature sensor. Or, you may have a bubble in the cooling system. Or, you could have a bad intake air temp sensor.

Hi, I have recently purchased a Saturn L300 2002 model from one of the dealers. The AC does not work at all. I got it checked from a mechanic and he says the Compressor is all good but not running and he...

If I was a mechanic, and i worked on cars for a living, i would know that i should not send my customer wandering around on the internet to find answers to my car questions. if my doctor sent me to the internet for a diagnosis i would change doctor forthwith.

what i would do, were i a mechanic, is get on line myself and find the local GM dealer who has been saddled with honoring saturn warranty issues, call them and get the name and phone number of a saturn tech rep, who are still around advising those poor GM dealers. If the dealer could not help me i would call the saturn tech rep and get the answer from the horse's mouth. in the last year i have personally spoken with a saturn tech rep, and put a chevy dealer onto one, and was more than a little surprised that the dealer had to be prodded into it, but then he was not the local designated saturn victim dealer. if you google saturn and keep clicking you can find your local GM dealer victim who may well not be real happy about working on saturns, but he can put you on to the tech rep.

change mechanic and good luck

When I try to start my 2003 saturn vue the key is hard to turn unless I push brake very hard and turn the steering wheel. What's the problem?

My 2004 Saturn Vue had the same problem. I thought the ignition had to be changed and I drove the Vue a long time with the key hard to turn and pushing it in before turning it. I mentioned it to a Saturn Dealer mechanic while having warranty work done. He told me a new key had to be made using the key code (located on the inside panel on the driver door). They made it and it totally fixed the problem. I think any GM dealer can do that for you.

Oxy Sensor

Makes 100% sense to me

I have a 1999 SL1 that I'm having a field day with. I installed a OEM cruise control on the car, took it to the dealer and had them program the PCM to see the cruise.

Cruise works flawlessly, but now I have a Service Engine Soon and Service Lights on all the time (Crank position sensor error and 1 cylinder missfire error) that the dealer cannot get to reset (Car runs perfectly) Dealer has worked on it 4 days so far (at their cost, not mine) they seem to be stumped. I love it!

DIY about $10-15 (headlight is halogen, I think, these are more costly that the old type)
Mechanic about $20-25
If they both are only bulbs that are bad.
