PRISE OUT THE TRIM PANEL AT THE BASE OF THE ARMREST WITH A FLAT-BLADED TOOL UNDO 2 SCREWS(DRIVERS DOOR) SINGLE SCREW ACCESSIBLE THOUGH THE ARMREST ON PASSENGER SIDE ,NOW GO TO THE BASE OF THE DOOR TRIM UNDO THE SCREW IN THE CENTRE,ONTO THE TOP TRIM NOW ABOVE THE RELEASE HANDLE,STARTING AT THE FRONT EDGE(DOOR HINGE SIDE) CAREFULLY PULL THE TRIM PANEL AWAY FROM THE DOOR TO RELEASE THE CLIPS,THEN SLIDE IT TO THE FRONT TO UNHOOK THE REAR EDGE OF THE TRIM PANEL,UNDO THE 4 SCREWS YOU CAN SEE,UNHOOK CABLE FROM REAR OF INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE,DISCONNECT WIRING PLUGS SPEAKER ,WINDOW MOTOR CONTROL UNIT AND THERE YOU HAVE IT ..EASY... IF YOU START NOW YOU WILL HAVE IT FINISHED IN 2 DAYS...ONLY JOKING....SHOULD TAKE 1 HOUR..HOPE THIS WILL BE OF SOME HELP TO YOU...LET ME KNOW HOW YOU GOT ON

    NO THE JOB TAKES 5 MINS HAD TO FIX A BROKEN WIRE INSIDE DOOR JUST AFTER WRITING LAST COMMENT,( HOW TO REMOVE DOOR PANEL)...BUT I FOUND I HAD TO USE ALOT OF FORCE TO REMOVE THE DOOR CARD.(STRONG RETAINING CLIPS YOU ALWAYS BREAK SOME,NO MATTER HOW CAREFULLY YOU ARE)....

Saying automatic door lock fault
helps to know what the make, model & year of the vehicle & origin of the message (dash or on-board computer diagnostic like on audi or saab displays)... faults usually indicate electrical failure of a component usually inside one of the doors, but check other websites for your vehicle if not owners manual under troubleshooting.

How do you remove a rear door panel on an Audi A3 4 Door

- Door trim.
Removal
- Unclip decorative panel -2-.
- Remove decorative panel -2- toward front.
- Remove bolts -3- (3x) from door trim -1-.
For vehicles with electric window regulators
- Window regulator switch, removing and installing Page 70-25 .
For vehicles with manual window crank
- Manual window crank, removing and installing Page 70-26 .
For all vehicles
- Unclip door trim -1-. Replace damaged clips Fig. 3
- Raise door trim -1- upward approx. 20 cm. out from door shell.
- Disengage Bowden cable for interior door mechanism Fig. 1 .
- Disconnect electrical harness connectors Fig. 2

when new AUDI use 10/40 semi synthetic(gemini)for annual/10k services and 10/40 fully synthetic for extended services.WHAT WAS YOUR CAR SET TO WHEN NEW????bet you aint got a clue.(the new owner must specify before collection and it aint written down.....)the vast majority of owners never ever know that they can specify.....the code on the chassis sticker (3"square paper)reads sg3. which means customer selectable.

Audi a3 1.9 tdi se 5 door. Complete faliure of central locking system and electric windows. Can anyone offer any suggestions, or has experienced this problem with any audi mode. Thanksl
what ever you do don't go to a audi shop as it will cost you a £1000.00 with out vat and £32.50 for every half hour of there time. try to resync. switch engine on with spare key and remove the remote fob from the key, shut the door and lock the door with the key within 5 seconds press unlock on the first remote to be coded untill the indicators flash once, wait 5 seconds and press unlock again to confirm this memory position. Remove ignition key and test remote if o.k repeat for other remotes adding extra positions by sitting indicators flash. position 2 will be two flashes. if no flashes then get the fault memory read. This may take a few attempts and lots of sweaing. Regards Samantha

Door Panels on 1993 Audi 90 Series
All door panels lift staight up after removing all the appropriate hardware; in your case, as well as mine two weeks ago, three screws for the rear doors. DO NOT PRY THE PANEL:OFF. When you slide the door panel up, you will see several L-shaped plastic tabs attached to the backside that engage into slots in the door frame., then hopefully you will be glad you didn't pull the panel straight out instead of sliding it up. Center locking not working electric window not working
I had the same problem with my 2002 2.5 tdi, i spent weeks looking for the fault an found it to be 2 broken wires inside the drivers door rubber wiring loom ( near door hindges ). it was causing same fault no int/light - no central locking to drivers door - no electric windows.
i managed to repair wires and it now fine..

Not sure if they've changed it but this is what i do for my 99 a4

First remove the screw in the handle pull, it should be next to where your fingers go.
Pull down on the black piece of plastic and remove the screw form the door
Then remove the screws on either end of the door, one near the door jam on top and one near the other side, same place.
Finally pull up then out and the door panel should come out

FIRST CHECK THE CABLES THAT RUN INTO THE DOOR BECAUSE THEY CAN GET CUT THOUGH COMMON PROBLEM (JUST WERE THE DOOR HINGES INSIDE RUBBER BOOT.) DOOR PANEL REMOVAL...... PRIZE OUT THE TRIM PANEL AT THE BASE OF ARMREST UNDO TWO SCREWS (DRIVERS SIDE) OR ONE SCREW ACCESSIBLE THROUGH THE ARMREST UNDO THE SCREW AT THE BASE OF THE DOOR TRIM IN THE CENTRE. STARTING AT THE FRONT EDGE CAREFULLY PULL THE TRIM PANEL (ABOVE THE INTERIOR RELEASE HANDLE ) AWAY FROM THE DOOR TO RELEASE THE CLIPS, THEN SLIDE IT TO THE FRONT TO UNHOOK THE REAR EDGE OF THE TRIM PANEL.UNDO THE 4 SCREWS IN THE TRIM PANEL RECESS NOW PULL THE DOOR PANELAWAY FROM THE DOOR FRAME RELEASING THE RETAINING CLIPS, SOME FORCE WILL BE NEEDED PREPARE FOR SOME CLIPS TO BE BROKEN THEN LIFT THE DOOR PANEL UP SQUARELY NOW YOU CAN EASILY GAIN ACCESS TO ELECTRIC MOTOR.HOPE I WAS SOME HELP TO YOU THANKS STAN
