Probably your fuel pump. If its EFI remove the cap from the shreader valve on the fuel rail and turn the key to the on position. Listen to see if you can hear the fuel pump kick on. Leave the key on and press the shreader vlave. if fuel doesn't come out hard and strong then either it's the pump (most likely) or the fuel pump relay might be bad. That relay can be changed with other relays of the same part number in the fuse console under the hood. Try switching it out and see if the car starts. If all that checks out good then the next step I would take is to look at the cam / crank sensor.

we checked the gas pump yestherday and gas was going through all the lines correctly. i recently changed the water pump which made me have to change the timing belts and the alternator. do u think that has anything to do with it?

If you have fuel flowing I would pull one spark plug just to make sure the injectors are opening and fuel is getting into the cylinders. The plug should be wet with gas. After that I would check to make sure you have spark. If you don't have spark then retrace all the connections you made for your alternator but honestly if no spark is there I'd probably be looking at a new crank / cam position sensor Look for any wires that may have come undone during the process of changing the timing belt. If you have spark and fuel then the last thing I would check is to make sure your timing belt is still nice and tight and that you didn't jump time I know my son changed the timing belt on his toyota and he did do it right and it jumped time. after the 2nd time it jumped the time we got to looking at it real good and found that the crank seal was leaking and oil was getting on the timing belt causing to get real slick at higher rpms and the belt would slip. I hope this helps.

i know that if ur car died it most likely has something to do with the alternator or the process in which the fuel gets to the spark

SOURCE: my 93 acura legend wont start. Ticking sound??

That sounds like a dead battery. The ticking sound is the relay (a type of switch) which enables power to the starter motor when you turn the key. If the battery is weak, the relay will click, but there is not enough power to turn the starter motor.

SOURCE: 91 acura legend will not start

Take off the hose to the throttle body and look for any obstructions. This has been know to cause performance issues similar to those described

1989 acura legend will not crank over after replacing alternator and battery

May not have been the alternator , check the main relay module , may need to re solder the connections. Its under the dash on the left side
of the steering column , its a little hard to see and get out but the connections often burn through the solder and present problems such as this that mimic a fuel supply problem .

Your shift lock is wired to the brake light fuse when you start your car and put you foot on the brake you should hear a acturator clicking. It is connected to the shifter. check your fuse which is located driver side fender under the hood if bad replace fuse if acturator is bad Call Honda parts you can replace this your self might want a manuel for that. Good Luck

Saw a wikipedia blurb that said that the 1989 Acura Legend Coupe has a 3-memory seat function. Can't find it on mine (5-speed man., Manufactured 05-1989). How to find and operate?

The sedan has it on the door below the armrest. I have a rocker switch to the right of the steering column that turns the seat control on or off.
