40A Ignition fuse blows every time key is turned to start position
Has the stater been removed at anytime?
I had the same thing happen the fuses are not cheap.
I had replace the starter and it was the same. It was blowing the mist expensive fuse.I end up taking the starter halfway out tighten the but on the ground wiring and that fixed it.
Solenoid wire to starter may be shorted at starter..
SOURCE: ignition fuse blows every time
Please replace the fuse with a higher rated fuse like 50 to 100 amp.
Take care.
Please rate this fixya.
SOURCE: truck starts but won't stay running
You may have a problem with the contacts in the ignition switch (not key part), when you crank the engine a signal is sent to the fuel pump to run, when it starts and you let off the key another set of contacts keeps the pump getting power Through a relay), these are known as crank and run modes.
SOURCE: ECM BATT fuse keeps blowing
That fuse provides power for the fuel pump. Either your fuel pump is blowing the fuse or there is a shorted wire.

You have a short (bear wire) somewhere. Trace the wire and find it.
Have a great evening

It could be either the ignition switch, clutch safety switch(if applicacle)or the starter solenoid,I'm including the circuit diagram for you,one of the 2 or three if it's manual trans has short,if the fuse is blowing as soon as you turn the key on(not engaging the starter)it will be in the switch itself or the clutch safety switch. If it happens when you go to engage the starter it's most likely the solenoid.
