Car sounds like a airplane

The car runs fine except it sounds like a airplane is following me. I think maybe something may be clogged or needs to be replaced but what is it. 2000 ford taurus sel v6

It is a constant humming, especially when I speed up it gets a little louder. Someone just told me it might be the catalylic converter. Which is very expensive

Sounds like it's your muffler, does it constantly make this sounds, or only when you accelerate? I

your problem is definitely in your exhaust, if it's possible get under your vehicle with and see if you can't tell of any holes in any of your exhaust pipes, muffler, or catalytic converter. If not then i would take your car to an auto shop for an exhaust inspection, it should be free

Car was running fine stopped to put gas in the car and now will not start. sounds like it wants to start but I think there is something going on with the gas. I can hear the gas pump working.

Sounds like a clogged fuel filter in the gas line. You may have let the fuel level get too low in the tank and the deposits were pumped into the filter and clogged it!

if it is puffing white smoke, you have lost a piston ring or broke it.the white smoke is coming from oil burning around the piston.your hard strating is due to the fact that you are loosing compreshion in the motor.take it into a mech.and have them run compreshion test on it.GOOD LUCK pretty spendy!

My trailblazer sounds like an airplane taking off when the engine first is cranked after setting for a period of time. It takes 10-20 minutes for this to settle down. When you slow down, it makes this...

Have the FLEX PLATE checked. If thats o.k., then it sounds internal, like a rod knock, maybe? If the noise is coming from the bottom of the motor Oil pump might be restricted, sometimes the oil pickup unit gets clogged with sludge. By the time you realize it, the damage already has been done, unfortunately.

On the highway, car began to make noise when foot taken off excelerator, runs fine, until in coast. on way to Florida, have any ideas?

Maybe one idea. Going to Florida has nothing to do with the noise except makes you scared being away from home. Sometimes front wheel bearings go bad-all of a sudden. Not bad where the wheel will fall off but starting to make a noise like a airplane prop. A humming low pitch sound but almost constant. Not enough to feel it in steering wheel. If this decribes your sound-noise chances that is what it is. DON'T worry you can travel many, many miles with this noise. My mini van started doing it 20,000 miles ago. I got the parts but it's a bear to replace. I hope this helps you. If you need parts go to ebay.

95 dodge dakota - cranks, runs 4 times, 5th don't wanna run

You will need to check the fuel pressure, if it is on the minimum pressure side or lower then you will need to change the fuel pump.
