The radio won't turn on in my 2004 dodge neon

Whenever I put any fuse for the radio in my 2004 dodge neon, all the fuses get blown. when i press the time button on my radio, the time pops up on the radio. I can't figure out why every fuse gets blown and i can't figure out why my radio wont work. I would like to know what the problem is, so I can fix my radio myself, so I won't have to pay to have someone fix my radio in my 2004 dodge neon

The proper way to diagnose this problem would be to look at wiring diagrams an see if that fuse powers anything eles . What all fuse blow and where ? Inside the vehicle fuse box ,under hood fuse box etc...
You can find free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter the vehicle info. year , make , model an engine size. Under system click interior & driver amenity. Then under subsystem click on Audio .Click the search button then the blue link . Looking at the diagram you see fuse # 3& 4 both power the radio . An they both power other system . Then you need to go to electrical distribution diagrams to see what else they power . You could have a short one of these other circuits .Does yours have a sunroof ? Fuse # 3 also powers the map reading lamps also. And would also power a sun roof if you had one . Fuse #4 also powers instrument cluster , remote keyless entry , Dome lamp ,sentry key immobilizer module , right an left vanity visor lamps .compass/temp mirror . You could have a short in anyone of those circuits .
Do you know anything about automotive electrical testing using a volt meter ,test light ?

If you want to fix this yourself you better study up . Electrical trouble shooting isn't for everybody .

Has any work been done under the dash. Sounds like you have wire grounded to radio or something else the fuse sends power to.
Maybe you could unhook hot wire to radio. if fuse blows again you know it is not the radio.

SOURCE: 2004 dodge neon fuse problem.

The dome tight is actually a combo fuse/light. If that light is burned out; 1 the locks won't work, and 2 the odometer will flash "FUSE" and 3 the "DOOR" warning light will stay on - try replacing the bulb. If it stays on with all the doors closed, more then likely one of the switches that are built into each of the door latches is not making the correct contact to shut off the dome light/dash light. The correct fix is to replace the defective latch. The other option is to just cut the wires that feel the switch inside the door - then the car will think that door is always closed and the lights will not come on when you open that door.

SOURCE: 2004 dodge neon fuse problem.

yes thats possible, because sometimes like you've explainde some items are on the same fuse, but some items are on the same ground, thus causing something else to appear faulty. so its possible that all of these items are on the same ground and because a fuse or relay for the a/c is faulty, it may cause something else like the dome light and door locks not to work , very crazy with these newer cars.

My 2005 dodge neon's battery won't hold a charge, lights flicker and dim and on the dashboard the word fuse flashes, what is going on?

Could be a bad battery but I suspect your battery cable is either loose or corroded or dirty. Before you pull the battery disconnect your battery cables and clean them both ends and when you put them back on make sure you have good connections and tighten good.If that does not work pull your battery and get it tested at a battery out let . they should do that for free.

My 2004 dodge neon keeps blown the fuel pump fuse. Can some one help

It's either the fuel pump having the problem or you have short in the electrical wiring going back to the pump. Make sure the fuse is the proper size for the fuel system. Hope this will help you.

My 2004 dodge neon keeps blown the fuel pump fuse. can some one help

If it is working for a time and just blowing once in a while you probably need to replace the fuel pump. If it blows as soon as you put it in, then look for a short circuit in the fuel pump wiring.

just plug the remote on wire into the same hole in the wiring harness that the blue wire is in. but if you are looking for the fuse, then open up the fuse box (driver's side of the dash when you open the door) and put it in the fuse that says radio.

Head lights will dim

You might want to check for a loose ground (negative) wire somewhere. That could explain the popping with the radio.
