How do you get the battery out of the Dodge Journey remote without breaking the case?

I removed the key, opened the back and battery still will not come out. I tried to force the case open, but I broke it a bit.

SOURCE: the trunk won't open w/ remote or elct. sw. only

Hello. Chances are that the Unlocking mechanism in the trunk is either out of alignment or broken. Take a close look at it. It is where the trunk lid actually latches and locks. See if it is loose, or bent, or broken.

SOURCE: 96 Caravan Sport back door won't open

remove the panel from the rear hatch and you will notice a piece of the sound deadener has moved up against the power lock activater, the sound deadener is made up of a rubbery tar kind material that goes almost gooey when warm,as far as the key, keep spraying a penetrating oil inside the door lock and gently but forcibly work the key in and out and back and forth but do not twist too much and break the key off

SOURCE: how do I get the battery out of a keyless remote

Well first thing to do would be to take it off the key ring as it will get in the way.

If there is no small screw on the back, then there tends to be an indent on one of the corners of the casing. Usually a Penny would work for this. By putting the Penny in the groove and twisting with light pressure, the casing should pop.

If there is no easy pop groove or screw, use a small flat-head screwdriver and gently pry the two sides apart. Working your way around the outside of the casing.

They should pop apart, and you will see the battery.

Replace the battery and snap the remote back together (this may take a bit of pressure).

If you have trouble go to the dealer and ask someone in parts, or service to show you how. They shouldn't charge you for asking how to take the cover off.

New Dodge Journey 2011 Where would the key enclosed in keyfob fit to start the vehicle if remote not working?

I just changed the battery in my fob for 2011 Journey Crew, with the battery removed ( from fob ) I did start my car by pushing the start button whith my fob... so the theory is tested and true.... also the battery you'll need is CR2032 available everywhere... and removing the battery will NOT remove the programming of your fob ( also tested )... so no need to visit the "steelership" Hope this helps....

New battery, can't reset alarm

remove the alarm, their might be a passive switch on the alarm to turn it off with a special key,if you dont have the key break the lock so you can turn it off or try to open case of alarm and look at wires and then dertimine which ones to join or break, every alarm inside is different so you will have to work it out.
