Volvo S60 - Problem with central Locking

My 2007 astra central locking went crazy doors not locking some wouldn't unlock ,tail gate not latching, hole locking system not working, no indicator flashes when pushing remote, wires from body to door inside rubber boot were broken , very hard brittle plastic coating on wires where they need to bend n flex

its one of your door lock units,volvo call it lock bounce.
there was a fix if its the pop up button on the top of door
sticking the motor then senses to much pressure required
to lock and disables the lock procedure. easily tested for
watch all the lock buttons to see if the travel through the hole to same hight.if not try a little wd40 sprayed down button holes.
if problem not resolved will require a diagnostic check on
locking system and anew lock unit.common fault in my
workshop.

If it locks immediately, the locking motor in the drivers door is doing the locking. Sometimes due to the manual locking knob getting stuck. If it locks 5-10 minutes after the door is closed, your remote control needs to be reprogrammed.

The pin solenoid that activates the remote locking is not receiving any electrical signal, it must have been unhooked. This solenoid is right by the filler door, inside the boot. The alarm activates on electrical differences, such as dome light, boot light or filler door electrical demand when it is activated. Hence, the alarm wont trip off if door is opened manually from the outside.

2009 right. This needs to go back to the dealer. Everything is computer related. Only a qualified volve tech should look at this. Everything is still covered under warrenty

you either have a faulty central locking motor or the wiring harness may be damaged.
Remove the door panel and check if you have a live feed to the central locking motor when you use the fob to lock or unlock. If you have power, then it will most likely be the motor that is at fault.
