My 2001 Chrysler town and country does not have heat (blows but does not get hot) and when I drive the car for a while the temp gauge goes up to the red. When I stop or turn the car off, the gauge goes down automatically to about half. I checked the Antifreeze and it is on about half in the holding tank and the fans are working while the car is idling. Could it be the thermostat?
BMW X3 2004..Gauge goes hot when driving then slowly goes back down..Changed sensors and fan...car does not seem to be over heating..does not do it all the time...the wham..there it is
The way to check the thermostat is with the motor hot feel the upper radiator hose to see if can squeeze it. you should be able to squeeze it. the water pumps is big problem to

Sounds like you are either low on coolant, or a head gasket failure.
SOURCE: 2001 Town and Country has only high speed fan both
if the blower only blows on high then it is you blower motor resistor that is located behind the glove box it has two screws that hold it in place

did you check the fluid level by removing the rad. cap? Radiator should be full to top. If Chryslers are low on coolant, the heater will not blow warm air.

When the engine temp looks normal on the gauge but you get no heat inside unless your keeping the RPMs up by driving it,It usually means the fluid in the radiator is very low.wait until it is cooled completely and remove the radiator cap and fill completely,Check resovour and fill to correct level,
