SRS light is constantly on.

Why is my SRS light staying on? I had the radio on and ran the battery down one time, since then this light has been on. How can I get it to go out.

on my 94' Volvo 850, After a collision, I replaced the air bag crash sensor under the console, and the driver side airbag unit. However, the cars tail lights will not turn off and the radio says "off" when you turn it on. Is there a feature to disable this open circuit?

SRS light comes on after engine is started and stays on. i have a 2005 honda accord 2dr exl. ( only happens some times and after driving without it on, it will come on when i pull into my garage driveway?)

AIR BAGS !
did you read the op guide, its free, in glove box.
or here
http://justgivemethedamnmanual.com/honda/honda-accord-coupe-owners-manuals/
what does it say, , it says, take it in. to Honda Service.
if wanting to work this system DIY, (your kidding?)
then buy the FSM. and read that. read every page on SRS carefully. its no joking matter.

http://www.infohyena.com/articles/9-how-to-reset-srs-light-on-a-honda-accord-civic-or-prelude

but do not play with the system with your body in front of the bags
if they deploy, it can kill .
so, buy the FSM and read it. read the 1st step
that is how to defeat the bags for car service. do that first.

if you just pull battery (engine) Neg lug, not PLUS.
for 15min or more, letting the SRS fully discharge.
it my reset,
but you just lost the radio codes. so step zero , in the op guide.
is to get and write down the radio code, (secret)
if not radio will be DOA.

you can also see this online at alldata.com, log in and read the pages its just a vitural FSM.

I have the problems below showing on my dash board screen: battery/ alternator alteration break light not offing restrait sys / SRS horn seizes/ tapping glass also radio also stops functioning it write...

you have a battery and/or alternator problem. which means the car is using more power then it generating. if you can connect a multi meter to the battery (when running) the read out should be 14v (or above 13.5) anything below indicates a bad alternator in 90% of cases. other a new battery in most other cases

Air bag light started coming on /dash constantly

the likely fault is the cables running to the seatbelt pre-tensioners under the drivers or passengers seat in the front of the car.

This may be simply the plug and socket have become seperated from sliding the seat back to clean, a common fault, or the airbag "clockspring" connection unit in the steering wheel has a broken ribbon cable inside the column housing.

To see if its the airbag clockspring, buy a 4 ohm resistor from maplin or radio shack, disconnect the battery on the car, unplug the airbag in the steering wheel and connect the resistor across the 2 contacts in place of the airbag, reconnect the battery, if the light goes out the clockspring is the fault, if not its the SRS system wiring under the seats.

What is the SRS light? I have 1996 honda accord

the SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint System. Most people call it the air bags but the SRS system includes all of the sensors and control units for air bags, seat belt pre-tensioners and passenger detection systems on cars that are equiped with them

each time you start the car up the SRS control unit will do a self-test of the system to make sure all of the sensors are working properly. The SRS light will stay on while that test is conducted. If all is well and everything passes the on-board test the light will go out in about 7 seconds. If something is wrong the light will stay on.

whenever a failure is detected for any reason, the SRS light is turned on and the system is shut off. The air bags will not be deployed when the SRS light is on.

They call it a Supplemental Restraint System because your seat belts are your primary restraint system.

hope that answers your question

SRS light

SRS if you didn't already know is your secondary restraint system (airbags)...... you can try resetting it by unhooking the battery for about ten minutes.... before you do that you may want to go down to autozone and have them scan the codes to see what it is showing.

SRS light stays on

I have 2002 Odyssey( 59000 miles without warranty). Several months ago the SRS light stayed on after I started the car. Some people said the dealers usually charge $ 80 to 95 to reset the light. Today I sent the car to dealer. After checking the car, they told me the car is under warranty, the parts and repairing are free.
