I know I had the same problem with my 2004 3500 Cummins...try turning the key to the crank position and let it go (this will allow the fuel pump to run for about 25 seconds, basically priming the pump). Try starting the truck again, if it cranks over and sounds rough this is normal. Let it run until it goes back to normal. If you cannot crank the truck over keep repeating the process above (making sure you turn the key to the off position after each time you try). **This information I found out of my Chilton Dodge Repair Manual**

There is what is called a "blend door" that controls the flow of air to either the heater core for heat or the evaporator core for cold. It switches back and forth via the temp you request. The servo motor that controls this may eithere have gone bad or the the door could be in a bind. This involves getting to the top or sides of the plenum which air flows through. Removing the glove box door and compartment will assist in accessing this. I hope this helps

Remove two bolts holding caliper on and pull up as hard as you can on the caliper. Wiggling back and forth at the same time helps.

Could be the lift pump, common problem on the 2004. There is a fix for it called an in tank lift pump conversion. Ask your dealer or check online.
