Jus driving along it cut out, stalled for about 10 mins, started back up got me home, stalled out again, and kept doing that for the day. would stall after running for about 5-10 mins, next morning, wouldnt start at all. cranks over, i can hear my fuel pump. my plugs and coils are all new. relays have been replaced. i sprayed fuel into the throttle body itself still nothing. im lost
As with any no-start situation, you need to know if you have spark to the plugs, fuel to the injectors, and normal compression to proceed.
ok, i have spark to the plugs, im believe im getting fuel,i could not find the pressure valve to check the rail. but i did have the plugs out and they were gassy not flooded though. compression good. iv herd something about these ex cop cars and the ecm
Just about anything is possible. Usually when the computer is the fault you have problems with trouble codes and other functions too. Something like the fuel pressure regulator could be causing the engine to get too much fuel. You might want to disable the fuel pump and see if you can crank the engine enough to dry out the new plugs.
Its also possible you have a weak spark, good enough to jump a gap in open air but not good enough to fire the plugs under compression.
BTW - did the check engine light come on when the engine was cutting out ?
yes accualy the check engine light started coming on right before it first stalled on me, it would come on when i was at a lower rpm
Then the answer to the question may be in the trouble codes stored in the computer. But you would need a scanner or code reader to get them.
yes i am going to read the codes tomorrow with a buddys scanner, see what comes up,ill keep it updated in the morning

SOURCE: f-250 won't start
does it puff white smoke then die? check your oil level, the injectors need oil. if not that then hydrolic pump
SOURCE: engine will not start
check your timing belt it may be broken or timing has jump, let me know if this works, thanks
SOURCE: truck won't start, can't hear either fuel pump 1992 Ford F 150 5.
If you can't hear the fuel pump when you turn the key to the on position trying to build up fuel pressure, it is most likely either a voltage issue at the fuel pump or you need to replace the fuel pump. Have you checked your fuel filter? Try turning on the key without engaging the starter and see if you hear the whine of the fuel pump.
Good Luck
SOURCE: 2000 Crown Vic cranks but won't start.
Check the fuel pump reset switch again, if it is popped back out then replace that little switch in the trunk, any ford one will do. it works off a magnet and a bearing to close the circuit for the fuel pump. easy fix.
SOURCE: Stalls in Drive/reverse and now wont start and it is dual fuel
I have a 2001 Ford Focus with Auto Transmission to stall when I put it in reverse?
