I had this problem, it was a recalled Fuel sending unit. The Dealer replaced free.

Fuel problem then .either a plugged fuel filter or the fuel pump is not working .. if you were to shoot a little fuel into the throat of the throttle body or air cleaner area you say it will run .? if so you are not getting fuel up to there . sounds like maybe a possable pump . always replace cheapest thing first like filter .. thanks Jerry holler if you need more.

My wifes 2003 nissan cranks over but wont start. i removed backseat cover and checked power at the wiring harness, i didnt get any power at all, i checked the fuse panel but nothing is marked that says...

you need to check for power as soom as you turn the key. you loose power afterabout 7 seconds after turning the key to "ACC position". there is a relay in system that shuts off tha power to the pump after about 7 seconds or so. personally I think that you have an issue with the sending unit. xterra has a campaign for sending ubit replacement, because they corrode on the inside of the connection on top where tha connector plugs in under the seat that you took out. This is what you will do: have someone crank the vehicle as you move the 2 wire connector on top of the gas tank. it may start. If not, then take your vin number to the nissan dealer and see if it applies for the sending unit replacement. you may even need new gas tank which is covered under the campaign if its too rotted on top.

For the past 2 weeks, when I try to start my 2003 Nissan Xterra, it seems sluggish, but the engine will turn over. On 2 separate occasions, when attempting to start the engine, it wouldn't turn over ...

Checked Cables how?

Looking & Touching isn't doing anything

You have to do a voltage drop test or remove
& clean the ends. I would do both

Remove the starter & have it tested at parts store,
assuming you don't know how to do a voltage or
current test while cranking.

2003 nissan x-trail starts idles well but won,t accelerate over 1500rpm check engine on 2.5lt petrol

You need to adjust the ignition timing. If your not familiar with how to do this I'd suggest going to a reliable mechanic.

My 2005 nissan xterra won't start i bought a new battery still wouldn't start. but all lights and gaurges started to work. As were they didnt before the new battery

When you try to start does the motor spin but wont start or is there no noise at all, if its no noise at all then i would start by checking the starter and if it spins but wont start then try holding gas pedal down and cranking the motor with a dead battery it may have lost memory and will need to run awhile to relearn idle at start up and other readings you may need to hold gas pedal to keep running for a few minutes, start with this first.
