Probably has a bad tire on it. Take it to a local tire shop and have them check the tires for slipped belt or irregular tread wear.

One of your wheels are probably bent, You need to balance them every year.

SOURCE: when stoping steering wheel shakes

Have your front brake rotor's cut or replace, there warp that why it shakes at stops. If your going to have them cut make sure they mic them, if to thin, they will warp again.

SOURCE: The car shakes at 35 mph then as you increase

It can be the suspensions or the shock absorbers, check also the engine mountings.
i will be good to take a full checkup of all the links and suspension bushes in the car. so a full test on the shocck absorbers, test the wheel bearings the hubs and if the discs are bend even is if the balancing was done.

SOURCE: steering wheel shakes when driving at high speeds between 45-60 m

the most likely soultion is your tires need to be balanced, then it could be your rims are out of round, flat spot on tires. when you balance your tires the machine will tell u if there out of round. make there they road force them as well. exp 2 yrs in being a technician

When driving my car the steering wheel shakes

If the steering wheel starts to shake between 55-65 MPH then you need to balance the wheels. If it shakes when you press the brakes, your brake rotors are warped and need to be cut or replaced. If the steering wheel shakes at low speeds then it's possible one of your rims is bent or one of your tires is out of round. Leaving a car parked for a long time in snowy and icy roads will damage your tires, causing them to warp. Depending on which situation is causing your steering wheel to shake, have it looked at.

At 40 mph the car starts to shake. It last to 5o

I have this same car with exactly the same problem. Begins shaking at 40mph and stops shaking as soon as you let off the gas, but then begins again as soon as you press on the gas and smooths out as you get over 50. And the shaking is not felt through the steering wheel. Solution: Replace the transmission mounts. There are two of them, one on each side mounted on the frame right next to the shock strut. There is also a front and rear engine mount, but I replaced the two as described and shaking is gone.

My car starts to shake after about 35-45 mph

rack and pinion is the steering wheel joint, so if the steering wheel shakes or handling has decreased, then i would say it is the rp. , also check the wear on the tires for uneven wear, it could be alignment, does the steering pull to one side? it could be motor mounts just find the bolts and check em wiht a torque wrench, also inspect mounting bushings as well. to check trans. give it alot of gas to get past 35-45 mph and the shaking should go away at higher speeds, if it doesnt then its the trans missing "third".
