My father was driving yesterday and the car just quit on him. Its takes a while to start again. There are no codes in computer. One shop says just start replacing parts and hope you find the right one.
Had same problem w/a 99 bonnie. Replaced fuel pump, still stalled, turned out to be a bad ground wire that runs on drivers side inside car, under the plastic door trim & carpet on the floor. There is a flat connector that about 6 to 8 black wires hook to. I cleaned it and messed w/it for a while then cut it out cleaned the wires up and reconnected the w/ wire nuts. No more random stalls. I also ran a flat ground ground wire I got from a store, from the negitive battery post to a good ground on the motor.
Sounds like great advice if you are paying them by the hour.
You need spark, fuel to the injectors, and normal compression for the engine to run. One of the three is missing if it dies.
If it does not start right back up, someone should be able to narrow down the list of possible causes.
If it has spark to the plugs, it could be the fuel pump relay, or the pump. If it does not have spark, you need to find out why.

You need to replace the passlock module. It is located behind the ignition switch.

you can bypass the security system entirely. There is a great write-up here http://newrockies.ca. That was the only way to save my Park Avenue.
