Constant grinding noise 2003 silverado

Being a ss, sounds like your AWD transfer case if it was never serviced may be worn out and will need to be replaced. The other area that would cause the same issues you have described would be a bad CV join or U joint.

Start with the simple and inspect your CV and U joints. If all seem to be in 100% working order, then move on to inspecting your transfer case and front differential.

Thank you for using fixya and be safe.
