The truck has been running well, occasionally when it has been parked I will go to start it and will lose all power to the truck. If I wait a few minutes and try again, it will usually start but everything int he truck is reset (clock, etc.) Last night, I parked the truck at work, went out to go home and it started to turn over and just died, no power at all. The guages started dancing and the instrument panel lights flickered a little, even without a key in the ignition. I waited a while and tried to start again but had no luck. I tried to get a jum, left the cable on for 10+ minutes and never got the truck to turn over, although it did get some power to the lights, etc. At one point, it acted like it was going to start so I gave it a little gas but as soon as I let me foot off of the gas, it died.....truck has a new battery and new battery terminals....any ideas? Thanks!
Going down the road after about ten miles the engine stops running and truck lossed all power if let to set for a couple hrs will run another ten miles the again no power any thoughts
It sounds like either alternator or computer, I f you can get it to run on its own pull the positive battery cable off the battery and if it dies its your alternator. And this is no real way to check the computer except going up to a AutoZone and they can check codes for free
