The dome light relay controls the two dome lights, two map lights, 4 puddle lights and 3 radio garage door openers. The dome lights can be operated manually by a three position switch (door, off,on). When in the door mode any of the 5 doors will operate the 2 dome lights. When the last door is closed the lights will stay on for a moment and then go off. All the of the systems are working fine. I installed a new battery at 5 years never had a problem until then. I thought I got a bad one and got it replaced. When I unplug the relay I can hear it engage; no lights come on when it engages, but the battery will discharge in 3 to 4 days .I hope this helps in solving the problem.
WELL SOMETHING IS DRAINING YOUR BATTERY ITS PROBABLY YOUR ALTERNATOR YOU CAN ALSO YOUR YOUR WIRING MAKE SURE THAT THERE ISN'T A CIRCUIT THAT WON'T SHUT (OPEN ALL THE TIME) MEANING AN ELECTRICAL CONTINUALLITY THAT WILL DRAIN YOUR BATTERY
The battery stayes charged if i use the vehical. If it sits for 3or4 days it draines .
that doesn't surprise me because when you are driving it the power source is using the power but when it sitting the power doesn't have anything to power so it drains the battery, you can buy a circuit tester for like $5 then follow the instructions to troubleshoot the problem also make sure you check all recalls on your vehicle I hoe this helps
If all is off in the dome circut then why does the releal get warm and none of the other releays are warm?
Checked dome circut with volt meater between fuse terminals with all doors shuy and all lights off ,it is 12.69v

SOURCE: Toyota Camry 1991 door light stays on
You need to readjust the switch on your trunk door, or replace. To check it locate it, tape it down with duct tape and see if the light goes off. If not it's bad. If it does it means it isn't sticking out far enough to be turned off when the trunk is closed. The adjusment should be fairly obvious. If not you can simply unplug it which has the same result as turning it off.
SOURCE: 2001 Sequoia, door ajar light goes off, but dome
To temporarily solve the light problem, I taped a washer to the inside of the door where the door hits the plunger on the light switch. A permanent solution would be to drill a hole in the door at this spot and put a self taping screw in that will trigger the switch sooner. I figured out the reason the dome light stayed on is due to the courtesy light timer and the lights would have eventually gone off.
