How to remove roof mounted dvd player an install another

Hi,

You might have to deconstruct a portion of your car's inner roof in order to remove that dvd player. You just need to look for screws in different portions of the roof to get this started. A visit to a local mechanic would accelerate this process. Thank you.

BEHIND THE INNER COVER AT THE RIGHT OF THE TRUNK.U MUST TAKE OUT THE COVER..

1 - Flap for convertible roof compartment Note
t The variable convertible roof compartment must be in the bottom position. t To remove flap for convertible roof compartment -1-, hinges -2- do not have to be removed. t Arrow points in direction of travel. q Bend flap for convertible roof compartment -1- on one side at hinge and disengage flap for convertible roof compartment -1- at hinges. q Fold down flap for convertible roof compartment -1-. q Disengage flap at hooks -4- (2x) by sliding it towards front. 2 - Hinge (2x) q Bend flap for convertible roof compartment -1- on one side at hinge and disengage flap for convertible roof compartment -1- at hinges. q Unscrew bolt -3-. q Disengage hinge -2- from body. 3 - Bolt (2x) 4 - Hook 5 - Variable convertible roof compartment

THEN REMOVE THESE..

1 - Side trim (right-side) t Removing - Take out floor covering in luggage compartment. - Remove rear cross panel trim ? Chapter. - Remove trim for handle mounting ? Chapter. - Remove flap for convertible roof compartment ? Chapter. - Remove luggage compartment light ? Chapter. - Unfasten clip -2-. - Pull off side trim (right-side) -1- in direction of arrow. t Installing Note
t Following installation, make sure seal is properly in position over trim. - Install trim in reverse order of removal. 2 - Clip

UNDER THIS TRIM U WILL FIND THE MOTOR WITH THE TANK.USE HYDRAULIC OIL THAT U PUT AT THE STEERING RESERVOIR......BEWARE THE SAE OF THE OIL!!!!!

Either the power to the DVD unit is off for some reason or the signal connection to the entertainment unit is loose. It sounds more like a power issue, since the ent. unit senses the DVD but can't access it. Have the dealer check it out.

Removing roof rail mount can cause roof damage. And i think you just be careful while removing rail mount. You just need the screw driver and obviously little bit of effort. And in case you make your roof damaged then you should quickly apply Liquid Roofing

what about the roof mount dvd?

The door control wire can be picked up from any of the doors light switches in the door jamms.

the ACC+ wire must connect to a source at the fuse panel that has 12 volts to it only when the ignition is turned on.

Plenty of cars have sun roofs and roof mounted DVD players,you just need to look at where youre positioning it in relation to the interior slide sunroof trim so it isnt screwed through mounting DVD,and look at the position in relation to the passengers looking at it

the lamp covers usually pop off. Look for a slot to insert a screwdriver.

Roof Console-Mounted
Removal and Installation

1. Insert flat screwdriver tip into notch at forward edge of roof console (519A58).
   

1. Push screwdriver rearward, compressing retaining clip. Pull forward edge of roof console down away from headliner.
   

1. Disconnect electrical connector by depressing square locking tab and pulling connector end out of roof console.
   

1. Removeroof console.
   

1. To install, reverse Removal procedure.
   

First remove the drink tray by pulling out and push down on lever in back. Then remove strip below dvd player. (this will pop off). There is 2 mounting screws behind it.Remove those. Then put a thin blade on side of silver trim. Gently pry and trim will pop off. there is 2 mounting screws behind trim for dvd player. Remove those and slide out dvd player and remove wiring harness. This is for 2005 town and country van. Now if I could only fix my dvd player. Good luck.
