How do I remove the serpentine belt from a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, V-8 (5.2L)? Below the alternator there is a spring loaded pulley, which I think is the tensioner. Do I need a special tool to loosen and or adjust this? I started to take the alternator off then stopped after I realized I did not know how to get the belt back on and tightened.
Faceing the Engine The Tentioner is on the LEFT side next Pulley Down from the Alternator , Use A Box end 6 point Wrench to Turn Tentioner To the Right (CLOCKWISE) to Loosen the Belt, Take A Good Look at it If there is No Belt Diagram to Remember the Way It is Routed if thats all you need then you R on your way. Good luck !
